JUST WOW!!! If you are driving thru stop here!!! Seriously, the town folk know of this local secret but others are gonna be let in now! Here's a long time successful restaurant that is known for terrific food and friendly people. It's really just a gem! Delicious and AMAZING blueberry salad that's like a getting a gelatin scrumptious dessert! I had one with my meal and another to go. And portions are big and economically priced right! Also wonderful homemade macaroni and cheese My husband's monster biscuit was exactly that and delicious. Only regret is that KNOXVILLE doesn't have Bill and Fran's restaurant there for me to visit often. THANK YOU ALL WHO ARE A PART OF THIS DECADENT EATERY Kid-friendliness: Happy people atmosphere Parking: Easy access to a treasure trove of yummy goodies!
First, let's start with the service! There are ABSOLUTELY NO BLACK PEOPLE working in the front of this restaurant!! NO BLACK PEOPLE COOKING ON THE GRILL, NO BLACK WAITRESSES, NOTHING! The black people come from the back with dishes to restock clean dishes, so I'm guessing they are the dishwashers. The waitresses are not friendly and if you'd like a refill for your drink you will have to flag down the waitresses to get one. The setting is awkward and sections are most of the time blocked off but there are LOTS of white people sitting in the area blocked off. Second, let's talk about the food! The chicken is not fried done and crunchy like it is supposed to be. The cube steak is tough and hard. The rice and gravy taste like powder with NO SEASONING. THE MACARONI...LET'S JUST SAY STOP WHOEVER COOKING IT FROM COOKING IT FROM HERE ON OUT!! I'VE NEVER SEEN MACARONI AND CHEESE SO UNCOOKED IN MY LIFE WITH SO MUCH WATER AND SO WET WITH HARDLY ANY CHEESE AND NO SEASONING! CORNBREAD IS HARD AS A ROCK! FOOD WITHOUT ANY SEASONING! YOU ONLY GET HALF OF A SPOONFUL OF FOOD ON YOUR PLATE!! This place is overpriced and the food is NOT GOOD! When I told the waitress that my food wasn't good she said, "Oh well, I don't really like it myself." Then stood there and waited for me to pay. There is this awkward thing in front of the bar seating area that a pregnant lady almost fell onto her face from tripping over it and the staff didn't even ask her if she was ok. They just put a trash bag over it and said they hoped no one fell because they wouldn't be able to sue them. I do NOT suggest anyone eat here!! PARKING IS HORRIBLE TOO AND SHARED WITH A GAS STATION. I went down the street to get food after paying them for something I didn't really eat. Parking: Shared with a gas station. Not enough parking.
Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised to see that they still served breakfast. It was delicious. The grits were tasty, the omelet was awesome as well as the bacon and the service. I highly recommend this place for a wonderful and quick meal
Best in the area. Staff is great and food is good southern cooking. Right off of I-26 exit 72. Great stop on a bike ride or on a road trip. They have been there since the 70s. Enough said.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Let me start by saying I was excited to eat here. That excitement ended very soon after entering the building. I was not greeted, seated myself, and waiting over 20 minutes before someone aknowledged me. Only 3 tables in the restaurant including myself and the 2 men that came in right behind me. They were greeted and served immediately I am assuming they were local. After my order was finally taken I waiting another 15 minutes for a burger and onion rings. Definitely NOT worth the wait. Burger was dry onion rings were greasy. I am very disappointed and cannot recommend this place I am sad to say
Never disappointed! Their food is delicious, service is great. Breakfast is served all day. I always have the Monster Biscuit and my husband had an omelet. We are stopping by again on the way home, after a trip to NC.Food: 5/5
I’ve been here a handful of times since 2020 and always received excellent service. Lots of options for breakfast and lunch in the menu and each meal I have had was delicious, classic diner food.
Been here twice and loved it both times. So many good things to try on the menu. It looks very plain on the outside and inside is a diner atmosphere. Love that they serve breakfast all day. Sometimes you just feel like biscuits and gravy! My friends ordered the meat and 2 veggie lunch special which includes dessert. Everyone was happy with the home style cooking. Servers were friendly, prompt, kept our glasses full without being asked.
Just wow. Service was good. But I ordered the Philly Beef snwh plate and only half of it had cheese on it. And his peach cobbler was liquid soup. When I went to check out, I had 2 Infront of me and a couple behind me, the lady Infront of me got done paying, the cashier's switched and they went to the customer behind me to ring up instead of me .. Seriously!!!! I'm sorry but for the prices ur charging u need to make sure your cooks are properly doing their jobs and the customers are getting wrong out in order not the order they want to take them. You could clearly tell mlwe were on our lunch break that couple was not!! We won't be back!
This is just a cute local pops and mom's restaurant/ diner. It's as southern as they come with cozy spot. From everything I ordered the waffle was dry as hell and our biscuits were burnt BUT we didn't go there with high expectations just a pit stop and must say the omelets are one of the best ones I ate ! Hands down! Service was welcoming and decent. As a stop on your way to and from I would recommend to stop there for breakfast/ lunch Parking: Tons of parking as it is near gas stations with lots of land
