Billie's Food Pantry was created over 35 years ago by The Community Action Against Poverty to feed the hungry. The pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers, many of whom are senior citizens. Billie's feeds nearly 1,000 family members each month.
Billies Food Pantry was initially funded by The Community Action Against Poverty. When that funding dried up the board took a pocket full of change (slightly over $12 to be exact) and vowed to keep the pantry afloat. Members said they believed the pantry was the only thing keeing families from going hungry. The pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers, many of whom are senior citizens. Billie's feeds nearly 1,0000 family members each month and is supported entirely by contributions.
