Binghamton Baja is the official page of the SAE Mini Baja competition team at Binghamton University.
Baja is an intercollegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Teams of students from universities all over the world design and build small off-road cars. The goal of Baja is to design, build and race off-road vehicles that can withstand the harshest elements of rough terrain.
Binghamton has competed in over 6 Baja competitions. The goal of this competition is to simulate real-world engineering design projects and their related challenges. Our Baja team must engineer, build, test, analyze, promote, fund-raise, and compete with a vehicle that conforms to the strict rules of the competition. The Watson school allows our senior team members to satisfy the capstone project requirement with this project. From stress analysis to engineering economics and project management, this cap-stone project is the culmination of what our teammates have learned here at Binghamton University
