The NSF BEST program provides scholarships to Biology and Environmental Science students at Northern New Mexico College starting 2016-2021.
The National Science Foundation awarded a $999,999 to Northern NM College to support STEM Education from 2016-2021.
1) Increase the number of students in Biology and ES programs by enhancing recruitment and retention.
2) Implementing best practice supportive curricular, non-curricular, and workforce development activities known to increase STEM retention.
3) Implementing a longitudinal study that will contribute to understanding the effectiveness of supportive curricular, non-curricular and workforce development activities on URM student recruitment, retention.
