We decided to stop by this café, because it had a really good review already. I will say we were not disappointed! The food was great, and Maddie helped us out as our server! The portions were more than enough and the club sandwich, which is what I got was perfect. It almost taste, as if they slice the ham in the back to make my sandwich. we are definitely going to eat here again when we come back up to Tennessee and hopefully it’s as good as the first time.
Fun place to eat! Love this little family run cafe just off highway in Townsend! Great selection including a PB&J, Fried Fish, Bologna & Cheese Sandwich, salads, and my favorite, A Reuben Sandwichpictured!! I had the sandwich with some amazing French fries and this Reuben hit the spot with their homemade 1000 Island dressing! The fried okra was also great and my mom enjoyed a wonderful fish sandwich! We also tried one of their homemade desserts as well! We will be back!!
My wife and I stopped in for lunch on our way to the Tuckaleechee Caverns. I'm so glad we did Service was great. Annette was our waitress. She was friendly and very attentive. As was everyone. The food was delicious. I went with the daily special, fried fish. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. Both were great! We couldn't go without trying some of their homemade deserts either. I had the apple walnut pie, while my wife had the lemon chess. Wow!! Absolutely delicious deserts. Worth going just for that I think I heard they may close during the winter when it gets slow, so might want to check to see if they're open before visiting. Otherwise, definitely give them a try!!
Yum! First of all we had a large group of 16 people. They were happy to accommodate us and were very efficient in their service. The food came out quickly, was hot, and delicious! Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good. This is a great place to eat...try it for yourself!
We've been eating here for years, back when we were still tourists. Since we've moved up 6 years ago we've become regulars. The food is always great, the service is always great, everything is made from scratch. Great homemade cakes and pies for dessert. I just wish they were open year round because I do miss my favorite fish sandwich during the winter when they are closed.
Really good food. There are only 13 tables, so we had a short wait but its worth it. I had the cheese burger and fries and my wife had bologna sandwich on homemade toasted bread and fried okra. I'd recommend going.
Absolutely amazing food and service. The desserts are deliciously decadent. We will definitely be repeat customers .
Deliciuos food and they bake their own breads. For starters we had their very tasty fried fish and great burgers. The portions are a great size for the money, their desserts are baked in house, we pick one to go often. We have posted their dessert menu, we will keep coming back.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
This is a wonderful place to eat. We visited twice in two days while camping for a week in SMNP. This is a true country restaurant with down home cooking and comfort food. This place gets high marks because they deserve it. The entire time my family ate there the lady at checkout barely had a chance to chat with people while they checked out because she was consistently on the phone taking orders. If you want good country cooking in a Rustic atmosphere then you Have to stop here. The deserts are home made and delicious.
The Black Bear Cafe is great. I stopped for a late lunch after a day of fishing. The cheeseburger was excellent! It came out hot and prepared as ordered, and the fries were hot and crispy. I really enjoyed this little place a lot. The servers were friendly and energetic. The upside down pineapple cake was very, very good. Make sure to save room for dessert!
