I frequently visit Blights Home Hardware and it's my go-to place for all my hardware needs. As someone who values supporting small neighbourhood shops, I am thrilled to have a local hardware store that provides exceptional service and high-quality products. The staff at Blights are always friendly and knowledgeable, and they go above and beyond to help me find what I need. Even if I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for, they are patient and provide me with expert advice to make sure I get the right product for my project. I needed a fob for my Infiniti g35. Called the dealer they quoted me $400 plus tax for a fob and programming. Talked to Kelly at blights and she did it for under $250. Kelly had my key cut and fob programmed within 15 mins. Thank you Kelly
Went to exchange a product and received major attitude from the older asian lady at the register. Have been going to this location for over 30 years. Won't be going back and will close all work related accounts.
A wolf among sheep. Too bad an old asian lady who has a terrible demeanor about her has to ruin what was otherwise a nice interaction with a friendly staff member on the floor who asked if I needed help. I bought something that was on sale but it rang up wrong on the till and so I showed her the advertisement and instead of apologize, she stared me down as if it were my fault. She also blamed corporate for the mishap. She must be in management otherwise why have someone like that represent the store with that kind of attitude.
This hardware store has been our”” go to “” location since we moved into the Dunbar area in 1978.. the staff are exceptional and are very open to listen carefully to the issues presented and take their time with options and the detailed explanations that are needed...from key duplication to paint products to lawn care and all types of tools for a variety of uses... this is a very helpful hardware store to meet your needs...again , the staff are exceptional !!
I am genuinely confused about the unfriendly reception I got from the two ladies at the front of the store. I had called in to place an item on hold. When I arrived, there was a gentleman in front of me who was taking his time at the cashier. One lady was helping him, the other lady seemed to be taking a break. When he was finished and before I could step up to the cashier, another man cut in front of me and placed his items on the counter. I politely said, “I’m sorry! I think I was here first.” The man seemed annoyed—and this is the part that really confuses me—so did the two ladies behind the counter. One of them reluctantly asked me what I wanted, while the other immediately started up another register, took the man’s item, and checked him out faster than the blink of an eye, looking apologetic the whole time. Meanwhile, the lady who was helping me could barely bring herself to respond to my small talk. She just kept scowling. I hate to play the race card, but this is one of those moments in which little else seems to explain what could have happened here. I was clearly next in line—in fact, I even nodded and smiled at the lady taking a break as I was waiting for the man in front of me to finish, and although she saw me, she did not acknowledge me or ask me what I needed. The only thing I can think of is that the two gentlemen, the one before me and the one after, were tall white males, whereas I am a tiny Asian woman. Regrettably, this kind of subtle racism is not unusual in this neighborhood, and often even comes from fellow Asians. All I can say is that I won’t be coming back.
Went in today it has EVERYTHING! and I checked some stuff ..cheaper than HD well done guys!
I love this place! Super helpful and professional. They have helped me countless times with small projects around my house and walked me through what needed to be done when I needed help. Highly recommend. It's a small store but great people that will go out of their way to give you great customer service.
The people working here are very helpful. I was asked if I needed assistance shortly after entering and later again, while browsing. Inquiring about outdoor wood stains I was quickly presented with options I.e., oil based vs acrylic and pros/cons plus a colour catalog. Warm, friendly and knowledgeable people with a wide range of products - what a great selection of kitchenware for a hardware store - this is a great store that I will be coming back to!
