Decided to walk in randomly last Wednesday and was greeted with friendly service. I was sat with Ashley who gave me a beautiful hard gel manicure. I was truly very happy ! She really took her time and did a nice shape and clean up. I’ve been going to the gloss nail spa on sunset in Silverlake for years but I am glad that I tried this one randomly. I only happen to be in the area because I was running other errands so I thought I would just give this one a shot and I’m so glad I did .
LOVE this location versus the Silver Lake location. I feel well taken care of here and love seeing my girl Ruby! She listens, amazing at designs, and quick too! Amazing freehand designs as well and I’m in shock every time she does my nails. Highly recommend!!!
Gloss has a nice aesthetic, the staff are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Personally, I won’t come back because I asked for a certain French manicure and it’s nothing like I showed the girl picture below of inspiration, left vs. what I got, right The girl who did my pedicure did a great job though. Very thorough. I also appreciate that the girls have Venmo QR’s to make tipping easier.
I had an amazing experience getting my nails done here for EDC. Got a gel mani & pedi done with Suri & Jane. I came in with a reference photo and they went above and beyond including marbling and gold flakes. The total was around $40 for the mani and $60 for the pedi + tip. I was impressed with the quality of the artwork and efficiency of their work!
Today was my first time visiting Gloss. It was also my first time getting a gel set. My nail tech did a beautiful job. I’m so happy with how they came out
Made my appt for Sunday 3/27/22. Front desk service was fine but service was so uncomfortable and awkward with Tanya. I was really disappointed at how careless she was with the whole process. She tossed each finger as she went through it as if she had some kind of bitterness towards me. Angrily Buffing my nails then toss it it aside to continue angrily buffing the next nail. I’ve never felt so tense during a session. When asked to keep it short she sharply responded with almost a criticism tone as to how short my nails were already. I kindly and calmly asked if she can clip my nail do that the the square cut wasn’t slanted but she snapped back saying “I don’t understand what you want me to do!”. I she ended up doing it but did it with the most disapproving motion. French tip came out too thick for my thumb nail but honestly, the service was the worst part. Probably wouldn’t wanna go to her if you want good service. Idk maybe she had an off day but man… ruined my Sunday afternoon.
I hadn't had a mani/pedi done in nearly two years because of the pandemic so my nails were in pretty bad shape. I couldn't believe that I got the most beautiful gel manicure and pedicure, with added callus remover treatment and massage, in under an hour! It was speedy and quality work. I also appreciate that Gloss has a nice ambiance compared to other nail salons. It made me feel like the owners care about the whole experience. I would definitely recommend Gloss and will be returning myself!
This place is great. They’re always down to do unique / more complicated designs. Pretty affordable and pretty fast which is so important as a person that keeps up on the nail game!. Also they’re just really nice and friendly people.
I've had hit and miss experiences here. It's clean, comfortable, aesthetic, and they work quickly. However, the last two experiences have been disappointing. Once, the nail technician filed the ends of my nails after my gel manicure so they began to chip 3 days later not a great value for $48 after tip. Then recently, I was offered a different type of gel manicure and was told it was the same price as a regular gel manicure $40. When it was time to pay, I was charged $80 for the manicure. I countered, saying I was told it was the same price. She then said "$60", which felt like she was throwing out arbitrary numbers. I paid and tipped well since the technician actually did a great and thorough job. However my overview is this: if you want a pedicure or manicure that's quick but mediocre and slightly expensive, this is a great option.
