Bloomsbury Sq (formally known as Storyboard Artisan Bath and Body) is a local NYC metro area business created and owned by Niambi Cacchioli.
From an early age I made my own bath and beauty treats and would spend hours in my Nana's bathroom cabinets trying out all of her oils, scents, salts and homemade skin remedies.
I am an academic by training and put myself through grad school as a cultural arts organizer and graphic designer. London; Louisville, KY; Paris; and now Union City, NJ have all been home and have influenced my craft sensibility.
In my 20’s I lived in and traveled to some of the most vibrant and exquisitely beautiful places in the world. Paris, London, Marrakhesh, Isfahan, Goa…Sometimes I didn't even know how to say a word in the local language!
Still, the beauty of each place, the fragrances from the spice and flower markets, and the creativity of local artisan workshops inspired, restored, and even transformed me.
Wherever I was in the world, I learned to make any place feel cozy and calm with a fragrant bath, the stillness of a candle flame, and a soul-stirring chat with friends or loved ones.
I returned to the U.S. five months pregnant with my first child and a full-time teaching post waiting for me. As a busy mom and professional, I had to find ways to bring that same sense of wonder and self-care that I used to get while strolling through my favorite Parisian streets.
Some pregnant women crave their favorite childhood foods, but for me Nana's simple, wholesome beauty recipes were my favorite treats during those nine months. I loved reconnecting with my childhood passion for bath & beauty crafting so much that I learned to make soap. From my first soap making class, I knew that I wanted to make little reminders for women just like me to have in their homes as an everyday indulgence. My products evoke a fragrant bliss, a moment of calm and indulgence with nourishing ingredients, soul-stirring fragrances, and a dose of daydreaming.
My background as a graphic designer also helps me to infuse my products with on-trend details and embellishments. At the same time, daily life with two young children reminds me to keep things playful, wholesome, and mess free!
One of the most incredible joys of building my business is the opportunity to collaborate with other local artisans, business owners, and crafters - especially women - in New Jersey and the NYC Metro Area. I believe that anything is possible with imagination, creativity, and a sense of wonder. That's why I love using craft classes and gatherings as a way to bring people together to discover new things about themselves and to connect with others in the community.
