Blue Cypress is in the best condition it's ever been! The greens, tee boxes, and all but 2 fairways are beautiful. They have been working hard to make the conditions great, and I believe the 2 fairways that have very small amounts of bare ground will be just as good as others soon. Smiley, who checked us in, was very pleasant and helpful. Grounds crew were working hard on the course and courteous as to not holding up pace of play. I've been playing this nine hole course since it originally opened years ago, I'm so glad the people operating it are working so hard to make this such a nice course. Yes, it's only 9 holes, but playing from front tees 1st nine then back tees 2nd nine will change your shot selections. I used to just show up and play but now that the word is out how nice the course is, it's best to call ahead and get tee time as weekends and some weekdays are busy. Thanks to everyone working there for the nice course and good time!
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Greens were great, smooth and fast. Others we met on course were awesome. Pace of play was perfect. First game for my son outside of Western North Carolina, and had a great experience. Highly recommend giving them a visit.
Played at 5 other courses in the last couple months and the greens here are by far the best. The putting, chipping, AND driving range feature real grass. I'll play the 9 twice anytime.
Staff is always nice and accommodating. Course is perfect for any level of golfer, but especially someone learning the game. Ideal for walking. Very comfortable and casual environment. Thank you Blue Cypress.
Very “junior” player friendly with great rates. This is nice- I feel like they’re encouraging young players to take up the game or polish up their skills. The remodel is wonderful. Weekend is usually a full field- get the grill going with some burgers and hotdogs would be awesome after a round.
I have nothing but good things to say about the manager Pete and Bleu Cypress Golf Course. Pete is very kind and patient. He will teach you all of the tips and tricks to make you a better golfer, whether you’re a beginner or wanted to improve your swing. His teaching methods have allowed me to improve tremendously and quickly as well. The course is always clean and anything you would need is at your disposal. The only drawback is that there is no midpoint to the membership fee which isn’t too much of a dealbreaker. I am just happy to have found such a good golf trainer and course. Course was in better shape then I expected. The Driving range needs some grass seed
We played on 6/26/22. Actually a nice course for the price. Remember to download their app for $5 off your first round. $30 for 18 holes and a bucket of balls - not bad. The driving range has real grass, no mats. A few questionable tee boxes, but nothing near as bad as Blue Sky. The greens are actually some of the better greens you'll find in Jax. They are small greens that are FAST, and pretty flat. Land on the front... trust me. There is really good grass here, but hard landings. As a few others mentioned, there are no bunkers here and only 1-2 holes with some form of water/creek in play. The course is short. We played from the blue and had no issues driving a few of the 300+ yard greens. Our drives on the Par 5's left us with 140 or less to the green.
solid course for the price, greens are pretty well maintained, and the fairways are decent. The rough isn't really maintained, but the fairways are so large it doesn't really matter.The holes are all pretty easy, so more of a beginner course, but still fun
