There is always a doctor available at Blue Ridge Premiere Medicine. Dr. Elizabeth Gardner has been my intern for approximately 3 years & she is very detailed, Professional, smart & intelligent. Dr Gardner is a very pleasant lady. I can’t say enough about the staff; always helpful & friendly.
Been with BRP Med since the beginning-starting with my parents as patients. They provided exceptional personalized--even home visit care-- to my parents until they died. When my father had a massive stroke, Jim Cummings stayed with our family for hours as we waited for my father to die. He didn't stay as my dad's doc. He stayed as a concerned extended member of our family. He was as upset as we were. Genuine individual personalized relationship medicine... what a concept. When our internal medicine doctor left her practice to join BRPM, we followed and have been able to have better care due to concierge approach and philosophy. Dr. Gardner was already an amazing physician, made more amazing by the concierge style that allows these physicians to develop relationships. The staff does a GREAT job with their jobs in taking care of patients and assisting physicians in providing best care possible. Many of the staff have been there since day one which speaks to environment and excellent leadership. Highly recommend this practice!
This practice is total b.s. I had to wait for 7 weeks to get a "meet and greet." When I called that week to see if I could the paperwork to fill out in advance, the receptionist was so blunt with her "no," I couldn't believe it. When I finally met with the doctor, she explained to process, but was definitely rushed. She gave me a folder of paperwork, and said to call "Emily" to see if she could get me in a month from now. I called Emily twice over two days, and no response. Then, the trusty rude receptionist came to the rescue. The only way Emily would call me back was if I turned in the paperwork. Hmmmmm. I'm going to allow BRPM to charge my credit card $2250, when I fill out the paperwork, to then be told if the dr. could see me or not? WTH? BRPM, you really, really, need to talk to your staff. This is no way a concierge practice should run.
The level of care and expertise is beyond all expectations. Dr. Gardner helped me navigate through a complex illness with a high fatality rate. She located a neurosurgeon who specializes in my condition, and has been there for me before during and after. She kept in contact with my husband at any time he had questions about my care. The staff at BR Premiere is exceptional- always warm, friendly and prompt to respond.
If you are looking for a physician who remembers everything about you and your medical condition, then these are the doctors for you. Individualized care, appointments on the day that you become ill. If you are hospitalized these physicians meet you in the emergency room and stay with you the whole way; you receive care from your own physician not some stranger. These physicians treat you like you are one of their own family members. What this practice is NOT: If you are tired of receiving care where you can never get past the receptionist or being told that they can see in 2 weeks when you are ill today and of a doctor who flies into the treatment room on roller skates and cannot remember anything about you....then you should consider Blue Ridge Premier Medicine. What this practice IS: The very BEST of patient-centered care. Individualized care by physicians who truly KNOW you. Care that is never rushed. And the very kindest, compassionate care. When my father was dying, these physicians were with me at EVERY single opportunity. From his unexpected fall; they met me at the emergency room...getting there BEFORE I could. They were at his bedside every single day, talking with me, holding my hand. When he was moved to hospice, they were there every single day. And when we held his memorial service, they attended. These are physicians who treat you like they would treat their own family members. What more could anyone ask for!
Burton H.02/12/2015 Excellent medical care I am a physician who, along with my wife, has been a patient of this practice for the last 2 years. Each of the doctors have sterling reputations in the Asheville medical community, and although I had never worked with them I knew of their excellence. I have never been disappointed and they have seen us expertly through some trying times, including in the middle of the night. Non-physician friends who I have referred have had the same experience, so I don't think I'm getting anything special because I am a doctor. Their fee is considerable, but to spare readers a lecture on the current state of medical economics, it is entirely necessary in order to offer the services they provide. Occasional cancellations occur when attending to emergency situations; if the emergency involves ourselves or a family member we learn to be grateful. Concierge medicine is a national movement and we are lucky to have it available here, and at a much lower fee than elsewhere. I heartily recommend this practice and each of it's doctors.
Blue Ridge Premier Medicine is billed as concierge medicine, where the doctors have "time and attention" for patient care. Hint: when such a "relationship based" practice cancels your first appointment - a "meet and greet" to assess fit scheduled several weeks in advance - at the last minute....let's just say I can get that type of "attention and care" for free vs. their $2700 annual fee in the current "public school" version of our medical system. Wow. I would love to give 0 stars not an option but I can rationalize the one star for the very effective screening process, although perhaps not in the way I expected. On the plus side, the receptionist was very sorry I "felt that way" when I declined to reschedule the appointment. Note: she was not sorry they wasted my time or that she waited until the last minute to cancel a several week old appointment or that I drove 4 hours into town for nothing....she seemed sorry only that I found this treatment an unacceptable start to a "relationship." Last note: my boyfriend and I just moved to Asheville and he is currently a new patient at the practice. So this is actually how they treat _referrals_ of existing patients. In a "relationship-based" CONCIERGE practice. It's actually pretty funny...thanks for the laugh, BRP!
Dr. Cummings has been the best doctor and the group has been excellent for my family.
