Came for pie and coffee and had to order a meal after seeing other plates! First off, the pie was very good. The food is family style with helpings of biscuits, beets, and slaw while you're waiting for your shareable sides of green beans, real mashed potatoes and white gravy. The chicken and dumplings were excellent. So much comfort food! Very pleased by fast service. The only downside is that it is cash only.
What a treat to have found blue Springs Café. There are no signs on 70 indicating that food is available. I don't know why I decided to pull off. Also, the restaurant is down in a pocket of the intersection to the south as you exit the highway. I feel like I stepped into a time machine from 30 years ago. Inside the restaurant is very cute, country Café. As you enter the door, you were immediately greeted first buy these ginormous gorgeous pies. We didn't have room for any, but it looks absolutely fabulous. Diner is pristine, clean and the service is excellent. Food was perfectly prepared. The green beans even had some nice chunks of salt pork. Wonderful mashed potatoes, and gravy. Fried cod tasty. And our Server Brett was great.
I can't say enough about this place . The food is spot on the pies are delicious and the staff is fabulous. My new number one restaurant when traveling to my home town . Absolutely love it.Food: 5/5
Was so excited to get some decent pie! They looked good, unfortunately I was disappointed. The pies looked like they had good crust and the small sample that I asked for was light and flakey. The actual peach pie crust was dense and hard; the peaches tasted like canned peaches yuck!. The Famous Foot High pie, chocolate cream pie, did not have any chocolate flavor. Crust was a soggy mess. Prices were not posted and not cheap per slice $4.50-5.00 a slice?. I’m not white and felt like they were not friendly or welcoming. After reading several reviews, my suspicions were correct.
If you are searching for family style food with all the comforts of home AND delicious Foot-high meringue pie, look no further. Roast pork with dressing and chicken fried chicken with mash were both excellent. White gravy yum, brown gravy so-so, and vinegar sweet slaw, picked beets, green beans, biscuits and apple butter complete the table. Come hungry and bring cash!
I just had Lunch at this place and everything was good. I wasn't feeling well so I was craving a soup. I order a chicken noodle soup and it was surprisingly flavorful with enough chicken. Then I had a slice of apple pie that was delicious the staff was friendly and the atmosphere is very relax.Food: 5/5
This restaurant is definitely worth the trip as we live an hour away. This was our second time coming here and made the journey just for Blue Springs. The food is absolutely delicious home cooking. The pies are outstanding!! The service is provided with welcoming smile and attentive care to our dining needs. Restaurant is very clean and well maintained. Parking: Large parking lot and very handicapped friendly. Kid-friendliness: Warm family friendly environment. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is smooth and ground level.
This place deserves 6 stars!! It's a family style restaurant. They provide the sides...coleslaw, beets and the best biscuits around!!! Choose your entree, and they'll bring green beans and mashed potatoes and white gravy. And for dessert, they have pie...10 or 11 different kinds. This is a place worth going out of your way to visit!!! Dietary restrictions: Don't expect keto, vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free options. This is all about home style comfort food. Kid-friendliness: Bring your kids! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
This is one of the best restaurants for down home cooking. The fried chicken is amazing! The coleslaw, beets, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy were so good. I highly recommend this place. The waitress was also wonderful. Great service.Food: 5/5
