A room was set aside for the Library in Lansdell Hall when the college first opened in 1922. When Shott Hall was originally built, one side of the dining hall was used as the library. It remained in that area until the current library building was completed in 1956. Easley Library was named in memory of Frank Smoot Easley and David Milton Easley, both of whom served on the Board of Trustees.
As an integral part of the educational program at Bluefield College, the Library provides instructional resources, services, and facilities to the campus community and access to resources and services to off-campus faculty and students. The primary purpose of Easley Library is to provide support for the educational goals of the College, as stated in the mission and catalog of the College.
