Bluffton Library

I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful library in Bluffton. The grounds are beautiful, just added new children’s area, the building is also beautiful. The workers and volunteers are always very helpful if you have any questions. A great area up front to purchase used books at a fantastic price. Easy do it yourself check out is nice too.

Beautiful building however with the open floor plan there is constant noise and disruption. There is no actual quiet space in the library aside from meeting rooms which can only be used for two hours at a time, upon approval. The designated “quiet space” consists of tables in a room adjacent to the lobby which is always disrupted by the constant laughter and conversation going on in the lobby by staff. I appreciate they enjoy their jobs but it is still a library. There should be some consideration that people still come to the library for a quiet space to work and study.

First visit and we were very impressed. The library is not even fully completed from the renovations. What they have going on right now, everything looks great. Our family is excited to tour the new portions as soon as construction is complete. Staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The friends of Bluffton library book sales are great as well. We loved the HHI location and their little book sales so this is great news for our family library.

Some of staff more interested in having their own conversations than acknowledging people waiting on them. Going back for book sale today hoping to have a bit more friendly staff as opposed to a couple weeks ago. I will say the books sales are fun!

It is truly unfortunate that I don't share the experience of the others who have posted 4/5 star reviews. I have often stood in line to pay a fine and been told self check out is open you can use that... don't worry if I could avoid the rude staff at the front desk I would prefer to use self checkout. Heaven forbid you have to interact with a patron and provide "customer service." Today I stood in line to renew a book that I could not renew any more through the online website to be told well two times is all you get. I'm fully aware of that, but if there is no hold on the book I can renew an additional time. I actually applied to work here for nights/weekends as I love literature and wanted to bring a smiling face to the library and never heard back inspite of having a master's degree in nursing, exceeding the minimum standard on the typing test and being fully capable of serving patrons. As a nurse practitioner I serve my patients on a daily basis with s professional and polite demeanor. If you do not like dealing with the public find another job. The library system needs to employ staff that enjoys their job.

very helpful and kind staff, reasonable hours, and great location! I love going here as often as I can. they have a very nice selection of books for borrowing, including manga and graphic novels! there's even a section where you can buy books for as little as a quarter! ^-^

Wish they were open later. Most people don't get off work til 5 or after. I work most Saturdays too. Too far away for kids to get themselves there.

A nice library with different areas for different age groups, and different scheduled activities. There are computers available. The children's area also has, besides books, some play items and computers too. There are also children's events you can sign up for. There are meetings possible in a large room.
