"My Journey"
After many years of physical, mental and spiritual warfare, I was grasping at anything to aide in my healing! I battled a weight problem since birth and was called names such as "butterball " and " flubberbutton " from the kids in school. I was even given permission to sit out of gym class because of the inability to participate. My father raised a beautiful garden which helped me learn to love the foods from the earth. This became my reality!
My mental health was also a battlefield from the beginning, dealing with hereditary clinical depression and anxiety disorders. Life was a struggle from the start. Each time doctors reached for a new medication, a new problem arose with my physical and mental health and I seemed to feel worse as a result. This became my victimization!
My spiritual health suffered as well. It has been proven that healthy eating habits and a regular exercise routines aide in improving and changing the chemistry of the brain, as well as physical health . Balance is the key. This became my obsession!
At 21 years of age , I decided to jump on a health diet that my cousin was following for cancer treatment. At this point, I was willing to try anything . This diet was basically the way God intended us to eat; from his green earth! After years of nicotine addiction I also attended a smoke stoppers program and indeed graduated as a non smoker . This was the greatest feeling! This became my discipline!
Without the spiritual energy as a motivating force, nothing is possible! We must have the willingness to change, and that comes from within "YOU"! Nothing is impossible when mind, body and soul are at work as ONE!
As I walked my walk with healthy lifestyle changes, my life improved in every aspect. As I received the gift of a healthier me, I felt the need to pay it forward! In 2007 I began my studies, and became a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. This was a total contradiction to the way God designed my body. I was not naturally born with flexibility, hand / eye coordination, cardiovascular endurance or muscle tone. My mother always said that I was walking on eggs. This became my determination!
As a byproduct of a mother who had two hips and a knee replacement from arthritis, I too faced this challenge. In 2009, I had a hip resurfacing. Because of my muscular strength and endurance, I was able to be released 48 hours after surgery. I found myself shopping with my daughter on the streets of Manhattan on crutches that afternoon. I was riding a bike two weeks after surgery, back on the elliptical in 3 weeks and personal training clients in 4 weeks . It really does pay off to work at it!
In attending the ACE fitness symposium each year in San Diego , California, I am able to stay at the top of my rock. I am passionate about my belief for a healthier world, with a strong belief in " walking the walk," not just " talking the talk". I presently feel healthier than I ever have. I take one day at a time and take nothing for granted, especially my health. As I train both the physical body and the whole person, I try my best to help you see the whole picture. I help you to reach inside yourself to determine the "whys and " hows " to guide you into a healthier lifestyle. I train with my heart, not my hand, and give you 100%, and then some! I am a motivator and I promote perseverance. I do not give up on anyone. Where there is breath , there is hope!
Reaching your goals depends greatly on you learning to believe in yourself first! It is called self care. Allow me the honor to challenge and change your life, because YOU are worth it! After all, if you don't take care of yourself, you cannot be at your best for anyone else in this world.

With our spiritual energy behind the deepest part of our soul we can persevere, through all adversity and allow it to strengthen us in our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual selves, so we can be our best, and become the person we were born to be!
