We love this park. We enjoy walking the trails and seeing the wildlife mostly geese and turtles but sometimes deer and ducks. Be aware that the pond grows toxic algae for months out of the year. There are trash cans for dog waste disposal throughout the park. The only picnic tables are by reservation-only, but there is plenty of lawn to spread a picnic blanket.
Nice park for large celebrations. Watch out for Canadian geese droppings in the grass and paved walkways. Be aware that the restrooms are locked at 7 pm. The Bohrer Park Activity Center has restrooms.
Good place for a quick run/ jog. Has restooms and is a good place to host parties. There is a small pond filled with turtues and fishes!
Exceptional Patk, beautiful and entertaining for the entire family. Mini golf, skate park, water park, good size playground, several lakes, recreation center for events, gazebos/covered shelter for cooking out. Plenty of green space to spread out.
Great park for the kids. Nice waking/bike trail. If you are looking for a bathroom the one in the community center is usually open till 8pm.
Bohrer Park is more than a park. It has a pleasant walking trail, ponds with geese, ducks, turtles, and seasonal landscaping throughout. Picnic tables, a super playground, and a large pool with slides, a water park for toddlers, a great skate park and a popular mini golf park, all make it a Gaithersburg must see. The Activity Center at Bohrer Park is interesting for its various entertainment schedules, business meetings, ongoing art displays, sports and exercise classes.
Excellent park! We stopped here with our children 5 and under and they had a blast on the playground which had age appropriate options for all of our young kids. There isn't shade on the playground but the benches were nice and a few big trees nearby can give you a place to sit in the shade. There are picnic pavilions and restrooms within eyesight of the playground. The walking path along the pond delighted our children-especially when they saw the animals that live under the bridges! There was a lot more to do here but we didn't have time! If you're traveling through the area and looking for a spot to run, this is it! We would stop back in a heart beat!
TLDR: Nice park for casual walking, dog-friendly on leash, must pick up after them, ponds with wildlife no swimming, sunny playground, picnic pavilions. Also, activity center, water park, mini golf, and a skate park fees for water park and golf, not sure about the activity center. A very nice and well manicured park. The grass is mowed and expansive but there are plenty of paved walking paths around. If you're looking for a hike, this is not the place, as all paths are very flat and gradual nice for casual walking in the outdoors. Dogs are welcome on leash and you must pick up after them. There is a pond you can walk around which houses turtles, and in the spring and early summer, geese and their goslings, and the occasional duck. There is a retaining pond closer to the road which can have the same creatures present. Entering the water is not allowed but fishing is allowed with a Maryland non-tidal fishing license. There are nice paths around both but the retaining pond has hardly any shade around it. There is a playground which seems to be a moderate size I believe it is painted metal and seems in good repair. The only issue is there is no shade over or around the outskirts parents who will need to stand at the edge to watch younger children will be in the sun. Pavilions with picnic tables are available for reservation. Otherwise, there is plenty of shade and flat ground to sit on. Other amenities include the activity center, water park, mini golf course, and skate park. There is a fee for entry to the water park and mini golf but not to the park itself. There are also a few historic structures that you can admire from outside and read about on plaques. The park can be accessed by car by turning next to the school, or if you live in the adjoining neighborhoods there are a few walking entrances. Parking is free as far as I know. Playground: Seems like a nice playground. The only issue is there is no shade over or at the outskirts. There is shade but it is located a little down the hill possibly out of direct line of sight. Dog-friendliness: Long, paved trails for walking. Dogs welcome but must be on a leash and their refuse collected. Picnic area: A few covered picnic pavilions with tables. Also plenty of nice grass in the sun or in the shade if you want to sit on the ground.
Lovely, neat and serene. It's a lovely sizeable park. The water/pond was an okay size but enjoyed watching the turtles and birds. Playground was lovely too. The overall park was neat but those geese droppings at this time is just everywhere. May need more parking spots. There's disability parking too. Will visit again
I like to come in the morning when nobody else is here to walk my dog. It's a small park and it's close enough to 355 to not really feel secluded or all that quiet really but it's well kept. Haven't made use of any of the activities such as picnic areas or mini golf.
