Casual river side bar. Not quite a dive but tap dancing on the line. I stopped in around 1pm on a Friday and took advantage of the tuna and tomato lunch special and nice patio view. I was concerned when the house salad came out with a lump of mashed tomato but the main dish was decent. 4 stars because the staff was warm, attentive, and welcoming.
Our first visit in several years....late lunch so they had very few customers at the time. Really enjoyed sitting outside with a view of the river. Service was good and the fried seafood platter with soft shell crab and the shrimp poboy were very good. My tuna was disappointingly over cooked so it was really dry and bland... didn't finish it. Green beans were well seasoned and delicious. Parking: Not a lot of parking available Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp in front of restaurant
Not a deluxe restaurant but a good neighborhood seafood restaurant by the water. Their soup was excellent the half beef PoBoy good flavor, needed a touch of salt, juicy meat so bread got soggy. Good service. I would like to go back and try other dishes. All in all a chill place for a nice meal. Parking: Ample parking in front and along the street on the waterfront.
The food was delicious. The service was awesome. The room decor could use a little updating for the quality of restaurant they want to continue to be. For example, the lights around the bar should at least be coordinating. Very fish camp feel if tray is what they are going for... Parking: On the street only parking. Very rough gravel or uneven road ro cross to get to the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Verrrry steep entrance ramp. There may be wheelchair access on the side.
I Googled crab legs bc I’ve been needing them in my life. I couldn’t find one place in NOLA last night. Morton’s came up and I’m so glad it did. It took us a little off our track to Lake Charles, but WELL WORTH IT!! Every single person we passed, spoke to us! The service is OUTSTANDING! From the hostess to the Server to the bartender spoke as we walked by. The side salads are a little small. But I found my crab legs!!! $3 martinis on Monday, and I’ve never had one so we tried all three!! I’m definitely a margarita girl!! Lol. But they are good, and they don’t skimp on the alcohol.
The staff is certainly friendly, although a bit confused about which server is helping where because we got asked twice on everything after we sat down. Quick service and I would far rather be over helped than under helped. The food was quite good, although the fish was slightly overcooked. I asked for well done so that may have been my fault for not asking what their version of well done is. Something about the gumbo made me cough each time I took a bite until I added crackers and soaked up some of the liquid at the top which is why I took off one star. I normally don't have issues with spice, heat, or oils but something was setting me off. Everything was perfectly fine for the price, and for a lunch it was more than adequate.
The food was phenomenal and as evidenced by the photo, it was a lot. Had another meal. Our server was kind of slow but not enough I won't ever go back.
Fresh seafood! One of the best Calamari in town! Their shrimp and crab bisque is so creamy delicious Kids menu has good portions as well!
Been wanting to try Morton's for quite some time. Was out shopping and decided to stop by for a late lunch. We sat outside and the weather was nice. Located on the Tchefuncte River, we really enjoyed the view. We tried the onion rings as an appetizer and they were very good. Then we split a shrimp poboy. Bread was fine and had plenty of shrimp. Finally we shared an order of boiled shrimp with some boiled sides. Shrimp were seasoned mildly and shelled out good. Potatoes and mushrooms were good also. We didn't care for the sausage though. Overall the seafood was very good. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Prices were fine. We very muched enjoyed dining on the porch front.
First off, the waiter was on his first or second week working there, but he was great, no issues there. Had the fish and shrimp plate with baked potato as well as the bread pudding. Fish was soft/mushy with hardly any taste. Shrimp were ok. As for the bread pudding… it’s basically a heated up fruitcake that doesn’t taste good. Long story short, for their prices, the food is most definitely mediocre at best.
