Went tubing there and it was so much fun, I had to go back a few weeks later! It's a 3 mile ride, $28 per person for the single tubes. They do have longer trips and different floating devices if tubing isnt your thing. Once you pay you drive down to the camping grounds where a bus picks you up. They then drive, and drop you off at a specific spot with your floats you eventually end up at your car at the end. The ride took us close to 4 hours both times. There are little sand bars where you can pull over and have lunch. So bring a cooler with all your goodies! I do recommend bringing a few things: rope for your party to tie up together, water shoes are a MUST, hat, sunglasses, a paddle or long stick sometimes you can get stuck, SUNBLOCK.
This was our 4th time coming to Boiling Springs and I can’t say enough good things. The people who run it are amazing, from checking you in to pulling out from a float nothing but helpful and genuine! Can’t wait to go back!
Very clean, great hosts, float trip was fun with river not crowded on a Monday, rope swing we found was a lot of fun for the kids swinging into the water, and ending up at Boiling Springs was a very "cool" way to end.
The owners are super friendly and helpful. Some sites are very close, there are maybe four sites with good space for a trailer..river was high, so we didn’t get to kayak but owners let us fish on their pond. The cliffs are beautiful in the valley, there’s a great cafe in Dixon called Wagon Wheel
Had a great time camping and floating at Boiling springs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Campground was very clean and well kept. Great place to take the family. Will be visiting here again. :
So the gasconade river of course was perfect. I've never 'camped' in a cabin. I love how the cabin was completely stocked like I didn't have to think about pans plates towels any of it. The reason for the four stars would be the wood was not sanded or finished like you could have very easily gotten a splinter not the biggest deal in the world. The other thing was the couch was stained and spots also not a big deal I was very happy with it besides those two facts. Float trip went great we rented a raft which was harder to steer than I was expecting I'm used to a canoe. The guy who organized everything like to make sure everybody got their rafts, explain the rules and whatnot was a bit rude but I think that was more his personality it wasn't anything bad per se. All in all very great campground just a few flaws and that would be the reason for the four stars and not five. oh I almost left out the very best part the spring is not actually hot it's quite cold and so beautiful like such a beautiful perfect blue.
Great place to spend the weekend. Kayaking The Big Piney & The Gasconade was fantastic. If you take younger kids, the fishing boats don't slow down for canoes or kayaks. The owners were friendly & helpful. Fantastic views in The Heart of The Ozarks!!
Fantastic camp ground clean friendly an fun we will definitely go back
We had a great weekend on the river and camping at the campground. The best part was the power. I did everything I could to try and blow the circuit. I installed a tent air conditioner. An air conditioner in my van. And also a refrigerator. All running off a single 50 ft extension cord. The owner Larry was so impressed he made sure to tell everybody!. He made us feel right at home. I think he was getting ready to say he's going to start renting air conditioners to use on hot days. What a great idea. Larry's also really good at making sure that the booking process is seamless. If you tell me you want to power site gosh darn it you're going to get a power site. They may not charge you for it first but he'll make sure he gets his cash. Thanks a lot Larry will be back.
Enjoyed the river! But if looking for quiet enjoyment the 5 mile is not for you. We could hear highway traffic 75% of the trip. With the exception of the young lady in the office, everyone to include the owner was amazing to talk to and work with. We came in from VA and hit traffic on the 44. We called over 30 min in advance to say that a portion of the group of 13 would be no more than 5 min late to the 9a required time. We were met with a lot of attitude over the phone and in person, despite being the only group for that morning on the bus that we were supposedly holding up. Asked the driver if we we're the only ones and he did yes. So that was disappointing and was not consistent with the customer service prior or after that specific interaction. Giving a 4 out of 5 due to the noise and the clearly one off, but still encountered, poor customer service.
