At Bon Appétit, we understand that food service serves a much larger purpose than simply sustenance. Eating together creates a sense of community. Food brings people together as it rejuvenates and nourishes The Commons Dining Room is a gathering place for great food and a wonderful dining experience. It is a gathering place where food is the commonality, the conversation starter between people.
The remodeled Commons Cafe in Chapin Hall includes the following stations.
Grill
The Grill features a short-order breakfast menu with eggs cooked to order, breakfast meats, hash browns, pancakes or biscuits and gravy. Our lunch and dinner menu includes burgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries, and chips. Daily grill specials may include marinated chops, specialty cuts of meat, vegan and vegetarian options or hot sandwiches such as a French Dip or Italian grinder.
Pizza
At lunch and dinner, we will offer daily specialties including pizza, calzones, stromboli, and flatbreads.
Pasta
Daily pasta specials feature a variety of flavorful meats, vegetables and fresh sauces made from scratch daily, and are served with healthy sides, breadsticks and rolls.
Comfort
From carved meats such as pit ham and turkey to favorite comfort foods like meatloaf, casseroles, greens and vegetables, Comfort offers a taste of Mom’s kitchen.

Soup, Salad and Deli Bar
We feature a daily-changing selection of home-made soups, full deli featuring fresh, made-to-order deli sandwiches with assorted meats, cheeses, spreads and artisan breads, plus an extensive fruit selection and complete salad bar
Vegetarian Options
Many of our guests eat some form of vegetarian diet. With this in mind, we offer vegetarian cuisine at every meal and serve vegetarian and vegan options throughout most of our food stations.
Made without Gluten Containing Ingredients Options
Celiac disease causes many of our guests to have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance. Gluten may be found in some wheat, rye and barley products. We have one dedicated area with regular offerings such as gluten-free cereals, breads and more, while celiac friendly options can also be found at many stations throughout the café each day. The Made without Gluten station also houses soy and almond milk for those with lactose concerns.

Ready to serve coffee to a guest who's on the go or to provide a comfortable venue for those who have more time to enjoy a snack. Everyone needs a place to get away for a moment alone or with friends. We're your respite for long busy days.
DK's Grill and Deli are open Monday through Friday for short-order breakfast specials, and a full grill menu featuring fresh natural ground chuck hamburgers and anti-biotic free grilled chicken breasts. At the deli, DK's specializes in tossed to order salads and fresh made wraps, using authentic ethnic ingredients to create interesting flavor combinations. DK's also has an extensive selection of grab and go items and packaged beverages for those on the go.
