We got chicken wings and a sandwich. They were both really tasty. There's a good selection of side dishes and the walls are plastered with signed dollar bills and old license plates. You can sort of see the ocean from the window. This place is literally right off the coastal highway. Very nice place for lunch.
Bones is an Interesting restaurant with a nice view, but based on our experience, their food is terrible and service is lousy. It can’t be this bad all the time or they wouldn’t be in business. Underneath some pretty good BBQ sauce, the chicken they served me was dry as dust. It must have been sitting someplace drying out and getting progressively more overcooked for hours. Service was friendly enough but once served we were ignored and it took forever to get our bill. I just now noticed on the receipt that we were charged for a coke we neither ordered nor received. There aren’t many options in Gualala and Bones can’t be this bad for everyone, but I’d avoid the place if possible.
We arrived for brunch and took a seat near the window. The flies were swarming so bad we had to move away from the window. My wife ordered coffee and it was cold. She asked for a new cup and the waitress made a new pot but it was cold also. They finally figured out a switch on the machine was off. I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and wheat toast. The eggs and toast were ok. The bacon crunched into pieces when chewed and tasted burned. The hash browns were like cardboard. I picked them up and had to pull with some force to tear them apart. My wife's hash browns were the same, inedible. Her Eggs Benedict were edible but luke warm. The waitress did comp are drinks. I won't be going back.
Great ocean views. New wait staff from Washington State was very attentive and helpful. BBQ was just "ok" , corn bread was poor, potato salad was good, cole slaw was just "ok"; good beers on tap.
We ordered a full rack of ribs with beans and Mac and cheese and were so stuffed by the end of the meal ... so we also ordered the Monday smaller sundae : Everything was delicious! Really hit he spot!
I often stop here for a burger & a beer, but the clam chowder is great too & the brisket is phenomenal! Super fun place & often has music on the weekends!
Delicious food, yum!!! Seriously good BBQ ribs. I am very sad that they closed. I hope someone buys the joint and reopens and hires the same grill master!
Meat was on the dry side, felt like I should have gotten more for my money. Location and view is great
So sad they closed! It was a great place to hang out. Decent food.
