This is a tiny park located in Boca Del Mar, an unincorporated area three miles southwest of Boca Raton in Palm Beach County. It is not officially in the City of Boca Raton, but is often classified as such. The Boca Del Mar subdivision was first planned in 1971 as Boca Granada by the Behring Corporation, who also developed Tamarac Lakes. The name was changed to Boca Del Mar to avoid confusion with a condo complex in the area. Construction took place throughout the 1980's. Bonita Bend is a passive park with paths both paved and unpaved. It has a lot of shade trees but no other amenities. You could have a picnic, exercise, or take the kids to run around but that is about it. If you are not from the neighborhood there is no reason to come here. Calling Bonita Bend a park is a bit of s stretch. If you are looking for a park in this area head to nearby Sugar Sand which has many amenities including a science center, incredible multi story playground, sports fields, hiking trails, and so much more. It has everything someone wanting to visit a park would need.
