Worst experience ever! Reserved a truck for our family move from Florida to Tennessee. Called 2 weeks ahead & reserved a 26ft truck with my credit card. Got email confirmations repeatedly leading up to the date, telling me to show up at 9am for pick up. The date comes & I show up at 9am to find out they have NO TRUCK!!! The employees didn't seem to care much. Asked if I could drive 2 hrs away to pick up a truck from there other location!! If you need a truck, do yourself a favor & dont use Budget!! I also called customer service to see if they were going to do anything for me & the associate on the phone was beyond rude. When i asked for a supervisor he told me the supervisor was going to tell me "no" also, & good luck. Then put me on hold for over 10min. The lack of professionalism is beyond belief with this company.
I showed up with my reservation on the morning of my move, to be informed that they had zero trucks available, and would not have any trucks available that day anywhere. They had already put a hold on my credit card. They did not make any attempt to contact me by phone, email or text. I would never use budget truck rental again. U-Haul saved the day and found a truck for me, and we're kind and courteous all throughout my move. Budget lies and makes zero attemp to right the wrong.
If I could give no stars to Budget I would. I had the worst experience of my life with Budget and I am still going through this nightmare almost two months later. First of all, they gave me a car dolly with bald tires and a nail in the tire. They actually let it off their property. I had to get the roadside assistance before I even started moving and the tire guy was actually surprised that they let the dolly go with such a bad tire. Second, the seat was broken exposing the bar underneath the drivers seat and they put a blanket on the seat to remedy the problem. I drove 24hrs with a bar on my backside. I was in serious pain for the next week. Third, the Scion XB, that was on the car dolly almost fell off the dolly. We had to reset the car 3 times on the trip to Florida. We finally called to see if they could tell us what was wrong. The guy that met us in Mobile said that the car had to be up against the metal front. He didn't do anything to help he just verbally told me what was wrong. In the morning, after resetting the car for the forth time, we discovered that his advice was wrong because the car shifted again on the final leg of the trip, yet now we have to pay for that because Budget made a claim. They said that the vehicle was damaged and sent us the bill for the guy doing nothing. Fourth, when I dropped off the dolly the "not so nice man" at the drop off location insulted my ability to drive a dolly, because I couldn't back the dolly into a tight little spot down a long alley. Like I said, this was the worst experience I have ever had. By the way, I spoke to a customer service rep and explained all this stuff and I never heard anything back. PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. Look at the reviews. 2.2 is not good. Go with UHAUL you will be much happier with your experience.
We rented a truck a week ahead. When we went to pick it up, they had given our truck to someone who had just walked in that day. He said he'd called and when I checked, it had been 30 min prior and we were already on our way. It was the only day we could move. The man at the counter finally gave us a truck, that wasn't in good shape but we made it work. We wasted at least an hour or moving time there. On top of that, we were repeat customers. Next time, we'll go somewhere else.
Terrible experience. You get what you paid for. Reserved a truck for a 1400 mile drive. Called the day before to see if I could pick it up earlier in the day, and was informed matter-of-factly that they did not have a truck for me. The guy's attitude was poor, and he connected me to customer service to try to find another truck. The closest one they found was an hour and fifteen minutes away in Port Charlotte. Once there, it took me an hour and a half to get out the door because they only had one girl working the counter. Also, if you think you are going to skip their $130 insurance scam, you'd better be prepared to answer 7 or 8 questions like: "What is the maximum gross vehicle weight to which my personal coverage applies?" and "What are the maximum limits of liability coverage on a commercial moving truck which my personal policy will cover?". After calling my insurance company, it turns out I was covered - but I could see most people were paying the $130. That is BAD MARKETING - shame on Budget. Finally, the truck was worse than typical rentals: no cruise control, a speed governor limiting you to 77mph, fuel economy was 10mpg 12 foot truck, about 70 - 75mph and the "whisper-quiet" cab was incredibly loud. I had to wear ear plugs the entire trip. Next time I will rent from Penske or Uhaul.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I had a confirmed truck rental, i received an email confirmation immediately and another the morning I was to pick up truck. So I had a very important move and when I show up, I encountered the most obnoxious and rude attendant I've ever faced and I am 61, not only did they NOT HAVE A TRUCK his response was abusive ....use Uhaul far superior....I can see why Budget is going under the service is horrendous. STAY AWAY!
Worst experience, they don’t even deserve 1 star. Reserved a truck at this location and went to pick it up and was told there’s is no truck to rent. The guy was rude and didn’t even try to rectify the situation. Called Budget directly and was told we would get a return call in 2 hours. No return call!!!Poorly managed and will never use Budget again.
This was a terrible experience. Went to pick up our truck at the time we reserved and the store was closed. When I called the manager he said he was at lunch and didn't seem concerned at all. He told me he was at lunch for 45 minutes whether I want to believe it or not. He told me I could leave if I didn't want to wait. He was extremely rude and it makes me never want to rent from budget again. My recommendation is go to UHaul. Would have saved you a lot of trouble!
Loved it, upgrade was SUPER! Used a cargo fan...perfect.
