Boomerang (Six Flags St. Louis)

Description

Boomerang is a steel boomerang roller coaster at Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri (USA) that opened on June 8, 2013. Before September 3, 2012, Boomerang was located at Six Flags Over Texas where it operated as Flashback until the coaster was disassembled, refurbished, and repainted to a new green and orange color scheme.HistoryBoomerang was one of the first Boomerang coasters built in the United States. It was designed and built by Vekoma and opened at Six Flags Over Texas as Flashback in the 1989 season. Vekoma's generic Boomerang model was sold to numerous amusement parks in the United States including Knott's Berry Farm, Hersheypark, Lake Compounce, as well as all the parks owned by Funtime and Premier Parks. On August 2, 2012, Six Flags Over Texas announced the last chance to ride Flashback would be September 3, before it closed along with the neighboring ride Texas Chute Out. Following its closure, it was announced that Flashback would be dismantled and relocated to Six Flags St. Louis for the 2013 season. Flashback was completely removed before October 10, 2012. The coaster replaced Water Street Cab Company (Bumper Cars) and operates under the name Boomerang in the Illinois section of the park with a new orange and green color scheme. Boomerang is the ninth coaster at Six Flags St. Louis, helping the Six Flags park become the park with the most coasters in the state of Missouri. Construction of the coaster began in early 2013 at the former site of Water Street Cab Company, with Boomerang track arriving at the park on February 11, 2013. The park completed construction of Boomerang in early April. Boomerang opened on June 8, 2013.

Very good roller coaster if you don't mind roughness. it's a normal boomerang with a cobra roll and a vertical loop. I really like the back because it feels like you get more speed on the first drop and on the second which pulls through the loop and gives off some interesting airtime-like sensation going into the cobra roll. the roughness is why I gave this a 4 stars.
A classic vekoma out and back coaster. It's about what you can expect from a coaster of the era it is from. A ton of inversions in a short ride! Is it smooth? No! Is it long? No! Is it a roller coaster? Yes! The wait was short, and the ride operators at this ride were some of the few I felt did a good, not great but good job at the park.
This is by far the worst Vekoma boomerang I have ever been on by far. And that is saying a lot, none of these rides are any good.Visited onWeekendWait time10–30 min
2 stars. Not because it's a hand me down from Texas, but because the restraints are painful if you're tall! Do not ride if you are really tall because IT WILL HURT
I've not ridden a ton of roller coasters, but the Boomerang at Six Flags St. Louis is definitely the worst I've been on yet! It was super janky and rough for its model. Some of this cloned coaster model can be great, but this isn't. I got headbanging in places that made no sense, the cobra roll was miserable and the second spike had the worst moment yet. It was like being in a car crash and that's saying something considering Ninja also is super rough. The thing is that every foot of track on Boomerang tracked worse than Ninja. No one moment on Ninja was even close to as painful or headache inducing as the Boomerang. I honestly wish they would just tear it down and get a flat ride or better coaster. Anything would be an improvement! A miserable Vekoma that should've been demolished after it derailed.
Very fun ride! Kind of rough in a couple spots but still worth a ride. Hardly ever any line for it.
I don’t remember this ride being so painful. Be very careful riding this. There is a part where you get jerked back so abruptly for no reason. It gave me the worst headache. More painful than the boss for people with neck pain.
This ride isn't as scary as it looks. Not my favorite ride but it's pretty good...
This is fun! Definitely one of the smoother Boomerangs out there. You will probably enjoy it.If you do not like backwards or cobra rolls,I do not think you'll like it. I would place this probably at #6.
