Simply magnificent! Whether you are initiated or not, this museum is worth visiting. A life is not enough to understand each symbolism and enjoy so much information, except for a few hours that one would like to never end, but it is nice to have the opportunity to live this unique and incomparable experience. The paintings have the Mona Lisa technique, it is very interesting and fun at the same time. I loved the aprons section, it really fascinated me, seeing each apron from different nations and the symbols, the history and the teaching and learning that they are impregnated with, it is amazing to be able to stand in front of them and imagine everything that those aprons represent and they have listened. They're silent witnesses, imbued with invaluable knowledge I wish they could add something from the American continent, such as Mexico and Benito Juárez, he became the last among the Brothers. Only as a reference and general culture that in America, specifically Mexico, where we also do good and honor the Masonic Order. If you don't mind, I hope I'm not offending you with my suggestion. I was very happy to have been able to be there and have access to so much old and valuable information. England has a lot of teaching if you know how to look carefully and humbly. Thank you. ' .
Did not know much about freemasonry before our visit. The expo/muséum is nicely explanatory even for non Freemasons. A lot of items exposed have also an intrinsic historical value outside of the order. The staff was very kind and enthusiastic. The building is also massive and forth a detour to look at as well ! Keep up the good work and thanks for the pleasant time !
What a spectacular building with generations of history. The purpose of our visit was to see a string orchestra performance of Vivaldi by candlelight. The Freemasons Hall is magnificent with architecture and craftsmanship to match, all of which made this hall the perfect setting for such a musical experience. A few photos are attached but these are limited and do not do the place justice as you need to see this place for yourself.
I enjoy many hours in the library here. Its a wonderful building and all the staff make you feel most welcome. The shop and museum well equipped and worth a visit.
A fascinating and impressive place to visit. Completely free to go around the freemason museum, but the £5 charge for the audio tour is well worth it. I came out having a much deeper understanding of freemasonry still not completely sure whether it should be called a cult or not though plus there's a cafe.
An inspiring experience full of history and grandeur. The secret passages make it a mystical place. Do visit with a full bladder and admire the vintage feel. You could make your experience wholesome by reading up about freemasons to absorb all the information around you.
This hall in London is the seat of the United Grand Lodge of England and the meeting place of the Masonic lodges of the London area. It is partly open for the public. The museum has a diverse collection of objects with a Masonic background. There are e.g. clocks, furniture, glassware, jewellery, chinaware and insignia. Some of these come from the private collections of well-known Freemasons such as King Edvard VII or Winston Churchill. In addition to the large temple, there are another 23 is the magic number ; Masonic temples in the building. All have different Art Deco styles. These temples are not usually open to public tours. for 5 pounds you can at least get into the big hall, which is impressive enough.
A lovely Art Deco building with an interesting museum and library on the history of the Freemasons...Grand Hall is impressive....All open to public and free...Bar/Coffee shop is a nice oasis from the noise of London and great value. ....All staff were friendly and welcoming, so don't be put off a visit......
Home of Fashion Week and it is a fantastic place to hold any Event. Marvellous winding Staircases and Marble Floors, I also love going to their Organ Recitals. In Covent Garden near Waterloo Bridge.
I happened to walk by and after many years in London I thought I’d visit. Impressive building inside out. Free entrance but the main hall is at £5 with audio guide from the museum shop. No hats or caps are allowed in. Bag search if you carry one eg backpack. Very effective and professional staff. Only ground and and first floors are open to visitors. Clean toilets and lively café. Pictures are allowed to take and the museum shop is open. It’s worth visiting and learning more about the history of London. I’d recommend it.
