If you are thinking of purchasing a bowling ball, the best value for your money is Striking Results formally Bowlers Mart at the AMF on Kenilworth road in Asheville. I know that you can get online and purchase bowling balls cheaper than buying from a bowling pro-shop. However I submit that for the average bowler, a even league bowler, purchasing a bowling ball based on the information provided on the web is similar to buying prescription glasses online without first seeing an eye doctor to confirm your prescription. And even if you have the prescription, glasses at the eye doctor are fitted based on your personal head and face dimensions. It's easy to get it wrong. I recently purchased a bowling ball from Striking Results at the AMF on Kenilworth road in Asheville. I worked closely with David Arrant. David watched me bowl and talked to me about my skill level and what I hoped to accomplish. He didn't try to sell me the most expensive ball but steered me to one commensurate with my skill and expectations. David spent a considerable amount of time taking measurements and explaining ball dynamics to ensure I understood what I was asking for. This is my third bowling ball and after David drilled the ball I have to admit it is the most comfortable best fitting ball I've had. The ball also came with a brief lesson. The things I appreciated about my lesson were: 1. It was not overwhelming, David limited his suggestions to a few things I could manage without information overload. 2. The concepts were simple and presented in such a way that in the few times I've bowed since, I feel I understand enough that I can self correct after a bad shot. And last, with my purchase of a bowling ball from Striking Results, David gives the impression that he has taken a personal interest in my success with the new ball. Frequently when he sees me at the bowling alley, David will take a minute to watch me bowl and if necessary with make a small suggestion or two even if it is just to provide a little positive reinforcement. You may be able to buy a ball cheaper but you can't possibly get more value for your money than purchasing from Striking Results formally Bowlers Mart at the AMF on Kenilworth road in Asheville.
