Bowmanville Legion

Attended my sisters wedding party at this establishment. It’s a legion so it’s going to be great people. I was still very impressed with bartender Anne sorry if there’s no e Ann and the sergeant at arms who’s name I am upset I do not recall. It really makes a huge difference when the staff are some of the best people you’ve met. There is a museum upstairs also that I didn’t get to see but I plan to. Strongly recommend the venue for anything. I believe they do bingo on Wednesdays and of course ceremonies for important days for veterans. It’s also incredibly interesting to read the stories and see dedications to real heros. One gentleman was in the trenches in WW1 and in his picture he’s younger than me. All in all just a very fun, interesting and relaxing place to be. If I could give 6 stars I would. And the staff would get 7.

Had a wedding held at legion this past weekend. Bob to rent hall and Sargent of arms that attended were amazing. ALERT *** Used their ladies auxiliary for the meal ....NEVER AGAIN.! First they could not understand why we set room up way we did enough for 58 .. but only order meals for 50. Was for esthetics. This was a farmer style meal .. head table to be plated .... head table was NOT served first nor plated. When asked why ... was grumbled at. Not enough food was brought to tables! Only a table spoon of potatoes and veggies was per guest. When asked to bring more kitchen staff said no. Dessert was same. I had popped my head into kitchen earlier in evening ... there was a ton of food!. However, found out later in evening that food was walking out back door to peoples cars. This was seen by several guests. They were rude about asking for payment $1000 for 50 underused guests. When I addressed this I saw a ton of meat .. instructed them to box up and bride / groom will take home. Paid .. got bag .. received a third of meat that I saw. *** it is apparent that this ladies auxiliary is only there to serve themselves on a wedding couple money. This is theif... and disgusting Called couple times to legion .. no response

I had my daughters reception at the legion in Bowmanville. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. From Bob who we rented the hall from, Ann the bartender who was just amazing and made the party, and to the Sargent of Arms Bob who was so helpful and friendly throughout the evening. I would suggest anyone needing a venue should consider the Legion in Bowmanville. You wont be disappointed. And you are helping out our Veterans . Thank-you all to everyone

The armistice dinner was a joy to attend. Remembrance of those who sacrificed and continue to serve was wonderful. The Legion is essential and appreciated.

Went to a wonderful wedding reception there. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We came in from an outdoor ceremony on a warm day and while getting settled the bartender rounded up ice waters for all which was amazingly sweet. Everything was clean and bright. Good sized parking lot, well lit. So well organized!

Nice hall very friendly people. The food could have been a bit better, more of a variety sandwiches and a bit kid oriented.

A very lively location. Active members, with many activities and a strong support network. A pleasure to visit and talk with people on remembrance day.

Friendly crowd.Always great barbques in summer every Thursday or meals low as $8.00 home cooked.Love going there.

Beautiful big room upstairs with kitchen facilities for booking events. Had my in-laws 50th anniversary there.
