I decided to be a little healthier that day and go the Turkey Artichoke Panini. I mean, all their items are relatively healthy, but I felt like turkey was a good choice for that day. I don't know if it was just me, but the sandwich was kind of small. It did come with a small side salad though. The sandwich itself was decent. It had a spinach artichoke spread, asiago cheese, tomato, grilled onions. I thought the bread was a tad stale and i'm not sure if it's from the steam and an enclosed box. The flavors were pretty good though, but it was nothing super impressive. The salad was pretty good too though it was super simple. Overall, it was a decent sandwich, but it's super pricey for what it is.
Great place. Amazing food and a very helping staff. We went there for a lunch and the place looked appealing from outside. As we were looking through the menu and trying to figure out the meaning of couple of ingredients, the gentleman at the counter asked if we needed any help. He helped us out with selecting the right sandwich once he knew we were coming for the first time and that we were vegetarians. Nice guy! We tried Tempeh sandwich and baked tofu and noodle salad. Both of them were absolutely delicious. The portions were huge though. But overall, we enjoyed the meal. The place is quite congested and I guess most of the orders are for to go. There is a large kitchen area and couple of two and four seater tables lined up on the other side. Adequately lighted. Great place to have grab a quick sandwich or a salad. Definitely recommended!
Food: 4 Decor: 3 Service: 3 Came here for lunch on a Thursday. 1. "Boxed" Chicken Salad Sandwich, 10 Applewood smoked bacon, granny smith apples, basil pesto, sesame kaiser roll ~Really good. Loved the apples, bacon, pulled chicken, and sesame roll. Solid ingredients. Service was really fast, although I wish the cashier had told me which chicken sandwich was the most popular.
Boxed Foods Co. was once a lunch go-to when I worked closer. I recommend ALL of their delicious sandwiches and salads. It gets crazy busy during lunch hour, so best to call in your order ahead and picking-up will speed you up to the front of the line. *Seating is limited inside, so try nabbing a table outback and enjoy your lunch al fresco.
When I worked a little closer, I'd occasionally pick up a salad from Boxed Foods to-go. The food was always fresh and tasty but the wait was always too long and the prices are pretty high for the amount of food that you get. Unfortunately, there are better places to get a salad for such a high price.
This place is a bit tough to review. I've heard from some disgruntled employees that the food isn't up to par, but that of course is one side of the story. The other side is that this is an excellent and healthy place for a sandwich and salad. The portabello mushroom sandwich is great, as well as a the chicken, but the chicken is what the ex-employees complained about. Lunches come in a - duh - boxed lunch.
The good: The pear sandwich is very good, and in general the servings are just the right amount of food. The okay: It took a while for the food to come and there's almost no seating. The bad: $12 for a panini is a bit much, even for San Francisco.
Absolutely one of my favorite Italian restaurants in San Francisco. Everything I've had here is delicious. But no matter what you order as your main course be sure to try the panna cotta it's devine. The staff is always pleasant and respectful but fun. It's a great place for dates.
I ordered the roasted root vegetable salad which was described as having: roasted beets, carrots and shredded beets, and parsnips. I got back to my office and the salad did not contain ANY beets, instead, it had a ridiculous amount of carrots. That is not what I ordered and if the kitchen was out of beets, it should have been communicated to anyone ordering that salad. I found that disappointing and inconsiderate.
Great salads, sandwiches that are always fresh and well seasoned. Our favorite lunch place from the office. Order ahead online and then pick it up to avoid the line out the door
