Boycott the venue, Ruby Skye in San Francisco, CA
This page is for music, DJ and performing artist fans that have had unjust and unfair treatment at the San Francisco, CA venue, Ruby Skye.
For years, this establishment has conducted poor business by (but not limited to) the following conduct:
-For allowing promoters to conduct "bait and switch" promotion tactics by promising large guest lists free entrance up to a promised time, yet use some of the tactics listed below to cause the line to not move, thus the "guest list" is given the choice to pay full cover or leave.
-Having lack of crowd control and allowing over capacity into the venue.
-Having lack of control over it's entrance (guest list, will call and ticket purchase) lines, allowing groups to merge and cut while their lines exceed around the block. (including blocking other business entrances/exits) Their lines are non-controlled with no ropes or partitions.
-Allowing scantly dressed women (in most cases, girls, not women) cut to the front of the lines and be allowed entrance before patrons that have stood in line for hours. (They allow women in dresses exposing their bottoms and in some cases more, yet strictly enforce a ridiculous dress code)
-For allowing line bouncers to accept cash "tips" from regular patrons to be escorted to the front of the line.
-For allowing bouncers to act unprofessionally when approached with concerns. (No bouncer should yell at a potential customer when approaching them with genuine concerns)
-Poorly kept and unsanitary public restrooms.
What can you do to ensure this establishment conducts their business fairly and just?

There is a time to complain! Make it fair for patrons to see live acts and keep the music scene alive and thriving for those that wish to support these artists! Don't support establishments that pick and choose their clientele based on looks, cash tips or bribes or allow bait and switch promotion tactics.
Support other venues that thrive and flourish due to good business practices. There are too many venues targeted for poor reasons, let the City Council start targeting businesses with poor conduct, like Ruby Skye.
To let Ruby Skye know that Music/DJ/Performing artist fans will not support a business that is unfair and unjust to it's potential patrons.
