My father grew up in this house in the late 40's - 50's and would tell me about the secret passage ways. The house was owned by my great grandparents, Burton & Mabel McIntosh of Sanford & Altamonte Springs. The bed I had growing up came from the house and my mother still has a beautiful oil lamp that my grandmother had converted to electricity that came out of the house. I would love to visit it one day as my father has recently passed. I've attached an old photo of his which I believe is of the back of the house.
I went for a tour with a group of friends and we were all in agreement at how much we liked the tour. The workers offered interesting stories of historical facts concerning the house. It is well worth the donation and time.
Looking for something different to do in Longwood? This historic house is what you want to see and learn about. The docents were very knowledgeable and welcoming.
Seriously, someone gave 3 stars because they didn't see a ghost or like the location? It's an historic house in an historic area. Guess they could move it again. Anyway, enjoyed the house and the curated tour. Very knowledgeable volunteer. Very well maintained and furnished with period pieces. Worth the visit.
We stayed here because it was supposed to be haunted. It’s not of course. The rooms are uniquely decorated. The service was fantastic. But we were let down by location.
Michael was an entertaining host. Small groups of just 8. Great history of the mansion and area
This is the only Queen Anne-style cottage remaining in the Orange and Seminole counties. It was built around 1885 and is part of the Logwood Historical Trail.
Very nice tour. Guides were very informative and pleasant.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and our guides.
