I enjoyed this zoo very much! I saw animals I hadn't ever seen before. I was able to get closer to the animals than in some other zoos. I do wish the big cats had a little more room though. Staff working at the zoo were friendly. Restrooms were clean. We were able to walk the entire zoo in about 1.5 hours.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$11–15
We took our 4 year old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter. We not only enjoyed seeing the animals but they had fun hauling wood in the wheel barrows and playing in the different play areas. There's a lot to see and do!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
A great zoo for such a small town! Definitely worth bringing the kids too!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Very well taken care of zoo, and animals seem well cared for as well. There was a lot to see as well as multiple play areas for kids to stop at and a cute little petting zoo area. Concessions were okay - our main concern was food dyes which was in 90% of their options, but I'm sure most people wouldn't have an issue with that so I'm not marking it down for it. Just noting for others
We like our experience. A lot to see. Must visit adults or kids will enjoy the placeVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$11–15
This zoo was fantastic! We went in the summer, so it was extremely hot, but the zoo was covered in shade on nearly all walking paths. The enclosures were clean, and nearly all the animals were visible. This small zoo holds it's own against any I've ever been to. Definitely worth the trip!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I love the zoo, I really do; but I believe something needs to change. I know they have the mist sprinklers, and that's awesome! But I think a few thing's should change. They should bring back the mining activity. They should definitely have more in the shops, and they should definitely change the animals exhibits. Nothing has changed exhibit wise, as far as improvements should be. I get they love the animals, and take care of them, but everything is super old and needs to be changed. Welfare should be above and beyond in zoos, and this just doesn't cut it. The animals pace, and lay around, because there's not much else to do. The snapping turtle has little to no room to move, as do most animals, but that one is really sad. I have loved this zoo for almost two decades, and I know funds are low. I feel like more items in the shops/etc would help that. I've already bought plaques for my family for the zoo, and I hope there's more options, more varieties to gain income to help fix this zoo. It's still beautiful, still great, but still needs a change starting with more room for the animals.

The zoo always looks clean when I visit. The staff seems friendly. They have a decent amount of animals for a fairly small town. In rating this a 4-star based on the size and the expectations although you could almost give it a 5-star for that. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it's not a zoo you go out of your way for. It is a great place to burn a few hours while in town.
What a great zoo for a small town! Lots to see: kangaroos, bears, tiger, lepord, wolves, monkeys, bison, yaks, prairie dogs, macaws, and other birds, etc. You can get really close to the exhibits, and you can even feed some goats, alpacas, and a miniature horse. It's worth the visit! Took around 2 hours to see it all leisurely.
