I visited this BREC facility with a volunteer group of teens. They were tasked with tidying up the indoor arena. They also had an opportunity to visit the horses in the stables and participate in a couple of team building exercises. Because of this experience, a couple of them are now interested in taking riding lessons.
My daughter and I had a fabulous time riding at Farr Park this morning. The horses appeared very well cared for. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the horses and their individual personalities. The trail ride was beautiful!
RV Park was very convenient to visit LSU and Barton Rouge. Place will be packed out on home game football weekends, otherwise you can just show up and pick a site. One bathhouse was not great but adequate. It's near row A but quite a hike from the back. Lots of horses on the morning!
At campground. IMO way too expensive for what you get. $285 for the week without full hook ups water & electric only. Gravel drives are mostly kept up. Sites are grass but mostly level. About 3 trees provide some shade to a few spots. Friendly staff. Bathhouse is adequate but showers are yucky with hairballs on the floor and walls. Does have dump station.
Nice facility. Covered performance area. RV park nextdoor. Trails and walking path close by along the river.
Can't say enough great things about this place! I've taken weekly lessons here for a few years now and it's life changing. I love my instructor, all the horses are fantastic and well taken care of, the facility is great. I love that this place exists! It's affordable, convenient, and just the best. Every horse I ride there teaches me something new. And I love watching the young riders learn and grow! They're so confident!
We visited... so we are not yet customers, but the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the facilities were excellent. Focus on English.
The RV park is very clean and quiet. Beautiful to look out watch the horses grazing in the field.
Staff were so nice. Give Loulou a raise. I dry camped it was lovely and quite.
Campground is all grass with gravel roads. 20, 30, and 50 amp RV receptacles plus water at every campsite. Most are pull-thru and about a third are shady. I subtracted a star due to the lack of sewer hookups but there is a dump station configured for access both upon entry and exit. A few sites have picnic tables and there is a pavilion for larger groups.
