Traditional drug addicts are treated with spite and disdain by medical personnel. I experienced this personally when seeking medical help for SUD last night. Spite, disdain and generally lacking empathy. Very glib during interactions.
Had passed out with dehydration and drop in BP. On site at a Fall Festival. Diagnosed me immediately. Treated and called for ambulance, took me to hospital for overnight in ER. Saved my life.
The service was fine and professional. However, they billed me nearly $800 with insurance for an ambulance ride to the hospital that is only 3 miles from my home. According the Fair Health website, the bill should have been less than a third of what was charged. Also, they refused to accept an early payment for a discount. Keep that in mind. if you are in need a ride to the ER or make a donation to these people.
Called these people to help my mom because she had very bad leg pain after completing dyalisis. The one paramedic with a laptop said that we need to stop calling them and contact her doctor. My mom's doctor knows this situation and I am trying to get help. Nobody wants to help me and my twin brother with anything. So Sad these people want to HELP others.
It was really cool !
