The Briggs Society seeks to promote student awareness and interest in current and developing issues within the international and comparative legal field.
Cornell Law’s Briggs Society of International Law, formally known as the Herbert W. Briggs Society of International Law, is named in honor of Cornell University and Cornell Law professor Herbert W. Briggs. Mr. Briggs was a distinguished editor, lawyer, scholar, and educator in the international legal community. As an organization, we hold events with guest speakers to discuss specific issues with international legal implications, and introduce students to possible careers concerning international law.
