The negative reviews confuse me. This store is clean, well stocked and always friendly. They do sometimes sell older items, but they are consistently marked as such. Pasties here are a delight, but better when warmed. If you want some British food items, this is the spot to visit.
Went here for the first time today. Really wonderful little store. It's got everything you would want. The prices are very good considering they're imported products, I have yet to try any of the baked items and such but I'm looking forward to it. They do continue to stock their imported items that have gone past the "Best Before" date, but at a very generously discounted price. These items are perfectly fine in terms of quality though, and it very clearly says on the price label that they're out of date, for those reviews complaining ; Definitely a great local business to support! Do consider coming here.
We came in from Caledon May 11th.Stopped in to pick up some bits and bobs. Id just had a surgical procedure so couldnt be bothered saying at the time,but two staff members both crabby as hell and older woman at cash was pretty bloody nasty. Then we get home to find the cottage pie a Year out of date! " BIN" loaf of bread we bought was covered in black mold next morning. Ive alway traveled in to Burlington to stop.here.Not any more!
As from the UK it was good to see familiar brands. The downside is that some stock was past its use/sell by date. On this occasion it was the sachets of cheese sauce and the potatoes scones which were frozen but at least 3 months old. Also the prices were very high compared to home, I understand a price hike for importing the products but still high in my opinion.
I was so excited to see this store open close to home on Guelph Line. Went to check it out today with my daughter & I’m sorry to say that we were both very disappointed. The shelves were full of biscuits, candy & chocolates but baked goods & meat pies etc. we’re lacking. Some frozen but no fresh. The empire cookies were delicious & fresh but the scone was so dry that it was inedible. I believe they’re still in the process of “setting up” so I’ll give them the benefit of doubt so I’ll wait a few weeks & give them another try at a later date. Staff was very nice & helpful.
July 29, 2023 at approximately 4:40PM. British Pride Bakery located at 451 Guelph Line, Burlington, ON L7R 3L8 Very rude staff one person. I was deliciously eyeing all the baked goods near the front counter. As my wife was deciding in what she wanted, I told the clerk my selection. I originally wanted 2 items, and then I added a third. When I did, they got extremely snotty and said, " I now have to get a bigger box because you changed your mind!" I politely said that you knew we hadn't finished making our mind up because my wife has yet to decide what she wants. I was so upset with this person I had to immediately pay and get out of the store before I said something I would regret. To the owner of the British Pride Bakery company, I suggest all of your staff to be trained to be courteous and helpful to your customers, which are your bread and butter. I guarantee this is one place of business. I will never step foot in again or order anything online.
Haven't been in quite some time, as the last meat pie i purchased was disgusting! Had some kind of tubes? lung ? heart? in pie! Went back today for a dessert for coronation. Loved the rude eye rolling female behind the counter. Ended up at Denningers!
What an amazing place. Small but lots of items. Great selection of baked goods. Great selection of candy. Great selection of jams and spreads. If you want a taste of Britian there's no better place to go than here.
Incredible selection of food, sweets and freshly baked goods from the UK to choose from. I always stop by every time I'm in town.
I don't know how to rate the store but almost 80 % of the things today may 6th were marked down to 50% because they were outdated. I wanted to try clotted cream but it was past best before date april 30 and marked down to 4.99 or 5.99 - did not risk it.
