I'm pretty shocked by my experience here. If you break a shimano chain on your bike, with typical Shimano drivetrain, and have to walk a couple miles to a bike shop for help. They may tell you to walk a few more miles to the next bike shop. There is no mention on their website that certain accessories disqualifies their help. In my case, a detachable electric motor prevented them from helping me. I could have easily popped it off or been offered a chain to attach myself but I was shown the door. Pretty heartless. Lost my household's business for sure
I love this shop! I went in after I had a flat x2 and repair at another shop. When I brought it in they investigated the source and found a piece of metal in the tire. They repaired it quickly and cheaper than the other place. I went back after my chain fell off and I wanted to get it checked out. They were busy at the time but sent me a message maybe an hour later that they evaluated it and it was ready! They fixed the issue and didn't charge me anything. I am just super impressed!
Very knowledgeable and helpful. Not pushy about sales but quite willing to share their knowledge. Not only did they sell us my kid's new bike, which they love, but they took time to teach them how to use the different elements.
Such a horrible experience he should of just told us to leave asked for a quad lock they didn’t have them which was understandable then I ask if he had a zip tie or even a piece of tape or a retainer to secure a brake cable didn’t even move and said no he has nothing I find that impossible to believe will never go back to this shop. I would give zero stars if possible!!!
I was shocked to get word back that my bike was fixed 2 days after I dropped it off! Not only did they change the chain and tune it up, they also gave me a first-timer discount on labor. Will definitely go back there for everything my Trek needs.
I love Joe's Bike Shop! They are my go-to shop in my neighborhood for more than a decade now for me at least. I was so thankful for the Fells Point store to be so close to my work when I discovered I had a flat tire at the end of my work day and in need to have that fixed for my bike commute. They are very friendly, reasonably priced, and do such great work!
Hands down the best bike repair service I have ever had. I have been to a lot of bike repair shops, from St. Louis to Boston to London and everywhere in between. The service at Joe's Bike Shop was second to none. I purchased a single-gear street bike off facebook marketplace that seemed to be working fine for my daily commute until my front tire went flat and I started hearing a clunking noise when pedaling. Peter took excellent care of all of my bike concerns when he could have simply replaced my flat tire. He masterfully interpreted my vague description of the "clunking" sound to recognize an issue with my chain that now flows seamlessly. He extended my brake wire so that I can actually use my right handle brake. He even offered to replace my tires with larger ones that could withstand the gritty Baltimore roads. It's been two weeks since Peter fixed my bike, and I feel like an entirely different rider. Peter was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with all of my random electric bike questions. Most importantly, he was able to do all of this for a great price, far under budget and our prior estimates. Fair, high quality, considerate care unlike anything else. I'm definitely going back. I wish I would have stopped by sooner.
I was hesitant about bringing my bike here at first. I first brought in my ebike to have the brakes looked at, but they couldn’t do it and explained why. They were really nice about it, it’s a store policy, and I thought.. I’ll try again with a different bike. I had been working on fixing up a vintage frame to learn how to repair bikes, and decided to have them take a look at it before I took it out on a long ride. Was definitely nervous they would laugh at my first attempt to repair a bike… and they didn’t. They were actually really awesome about it and taught me a good amount. As a woman and a POC, I’ve not always had the best experiences in bike shops, but my experience here was a 10/10. Definitely bring your bike here! Some people noted in previous reviews that this shop is expensive even for used bikes. They really aren’t. A quality bike comes with a quality price. Fixing them is time consuming and not always cheap, but they were incredibly honest and I walked away paying less than what they quoted me for on the phone.
My initial reaction for customer service wasn't good. Asked a question and person helping out seemed annoyed that a question was even asked for something simple. Also what's the deal with still being COVID restricted? Three people in the store with bikes and felt like I had to keep dodging them. I won't be returning.
My tubeless tires had slow leak after finishing a long and hot move from CA to MD. I wanted them to check my rim tape, and add more sealant. My old shop in CA charged $41 per wheel to re-tape a rim with Cushcore inserts. Not counting cost of sealant Corey checked both wheels, ended up re-taping one, and added sealant to both for just ~$50, a price I couldn’t dream of back in CA. On top of that he recommended a handful of local trails I should try. Made me feel right at home. 10/10 would reccomed
