Our daughter’s sweet 16 party could not have been more fun and beautiful. The volunteers and team at the legion hall were amazing. They were attentive and helpful. We did a complete DIY event and were able to bring in our own decor and catering. The room was setup, ready, and clean. The newly renovated Village Venue hall in the upstairs was a beautiful space. Parking is free and onsite. The only issue was it was really slippery on the entry way stairs due to an ice storm during our event and they didn’t have access to a salter. Pouring a bunch of table salt helped alleviate!
Canada Day 2023 was a disappointment. The "Chain-Smoking Bar Trash Karen" with her dog sealed the deal. Peace out Family won't be returning.Sorry Cobbs was the only thing worth the trip, Wonderful friendly lady with great food. Thank-you. .
Always feel great to visit that place. The Remembrance Day parade every year organized by Royal Canadian Legion Oakville branch is a worth watching event. The place is getting old and give old as such. Deserves upgradation.
Just enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the Legion celebrating the life of my step-father who recently passed away. The whole family was there and everyone admired the amazing venue and the friendliness and help of the staff that went beyond our expectations.
Visited for their Holiday handmade market. Great atmosphere and lots of talented people. Bought some great presents.
BEWARE THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS WITH BRANCH 486. As small business owners, my wife and I hosted a Vendor show at this legion on Sunday September 26th, 2021. We had rented the venue several weeks prior from the legion's booking agent - Kiera. We exchanged multiple e-mails with Kiera, and were informed that we could be provided with a mixture of both 6ft and 8ft tables. Based on the information given, we rented a total of twelve 8ft tables and ten 6ft tables to our participating vendors. We once again reached out to Kiera to confirm the tables needed and were told it wouldn't be an issue. However, when we arrived at the legion on the day of the event we were informed that there were no 8ft tables available. As a result, we had to refund several vendors - resulting in both financial and reputational loss to us as a small business. We followed up with the legions booking agent - Kiera, only to be told that they would do nothing to compensate us. The branches official stance is "they provided what tables were available at that time" regardless of what was previously stated. So again, beware the cost of doing business with Branch 486.
My friend rented this place for a birthday party. It was a decent sized room with a kitchen area that overlooked it. The only negative is that the elevator for wheelchair use goes directly outside and you need a key that you have to find and the person in the wheelchair is left waiting out in the cold. And there are a lot of stairs to come in otherwise.
Had a event in the basement, parking, washroom with seating was v good,bar with pool table.
Great spot .Always clean .Great group of volunteers and supporters at this Branch Family has been members here for years .The commitment shown to this branch by members ,volunteers and staff is commendable
Appalled by the service at this place. My fiancé who’s father is a member was in contact with Connie event organizer since May about booking the hall for October 27. She told him the date was set and they were figuring out pricing and had NOT sent him a contract because she was “too busy”. Weirdly enough she strung him along for 4 MONTHS and had said it was BOOKED IN. so we decided to make invitations, since it was “booked in”. The day she decided to send him the contract convinetntly enough for her the hall was booked that day FOR SOMEONE ELSE and her excuse was “my hands are tied”. OUR INVITATIONS HAVE BEEN SENT OUT!!!!!!!! THINGS WERE PLANNED!!!! But her hands were tied..... I’m shocked as to how much they DONT CARE and offered us another date because the people that booked it had people coming from the states... LITTLE DO THEY KNOW WE HAVE PEOPLE COMING FROM COLOMBIA!!!!! Shocks me how little they cared, told us there’s nothing they can do... my fiancé even went to speak to them and they still had no compassion or even cared that something we’ve had planned for 4 MONTHS got completely ruined by them. Don’t book here. Customer service is a ZERO! respect is a ZERO!! Compassion ZERO!!
