Beautiful location nestled in the redwoods. Beautiful newly remodeled rooms with sweet balconies overlooking the courtyard. Friendly and helpful staff. And fun ambiance with the bar and grill with live music. Such a great hidden gem. can’t wait to go back.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed for 2 nights for the Annual Big Queer Weekend Burlesque event in August. The cafe cranks out yummy food. The bar is groovy. The redwoods are relaxing and the history of the place is fascinating. Whether you are local or visiting, you will love this place. The rooms are nice too. I will be back. Oh, and I forgot to mention, everyone who works there is super nice and helpful! Thanks all :
The location is cute and nested in the mountains. The room was clean which is a huge plus. They don't offer breakfast and have an adjacent bar and restaurant that has live music which wasn't a plus for us too much noise if you wanna sleep. Also the reception was closed until 8 am so I had to just slip my room key and leave at 7 am. But overall I think for a 2 star hotel, it was good.
What a fantastic find! I was on a solo motorcycle trip. My room was spacious and clean, and the staff were quite friendly and accommodating. The room looked freshly remodeled as well. The price point was outstanding! There's a little market on site where you can purchase drinks, snacks, or anything you have forgotten to bring. Had breakfast and dinner at the little Cafe there and the food was delicious. Finally, the setting among the redwoods is just gorgeous and very relaxing. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again! Nearby activities: Explore the redwoods. Head into Santa Cruz to check out the boardwalk or the pier. Great base for hiking, bicycle riding or motorcycling.
Stopped to peruse the hotel and grab a quick beer on our way to the mountain! Service was excellent we were greeted at the bar immediately, which looks incredible after the remodel! The area is so beautiful, you’re surrounded by redwood trees on all sides and there’s a little creek that runs through the outside of the hotel. Explore a few of the little shops and restaurants connected to the hotel, everyone is lovely and the food is great! Food & drinks: Good prices on beer and wine!
The room was updated, stylish and comfortable bed linens, and we slept well. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Plenty of USB ports, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffeemaker in room. A little more attention to detail could go a long way to making this a 5-star experience. There were rings from previous drinks on the bedside table, a previous guest’s partial leftovers in the freezer, ice cream and other sticky substances on the patio table and chair prevented us from enjoying the space. The sink leaked on first use. Someone came to repair but never checked back it was still leaking slightly when we checked out. The tub was SUPER slippery, and no bath mat was supplied for stepping out of the shower. Oddly, we couldn’t get any cold water from the faucet. They’re dog-friendly and located near hiking/biking trails so convenient and great if you’re looking for a place to crash. It has the potential to be a destination if they pay more attention to some esthetic details.
I booked my stay for two nights. Was going to arrive reallylate after their check in time, staff was accommodating to that over the phone when I booked. Once we got to the room, I overheard water dripping, I looked into the bathroom and the tub was filled about 1/5 with not clean water . I had to stick in my hand in to let the water drain. Hair was visible in the tub that was pretty gross, walls were dirty. After that I naturally was thinking what else am I going to see. I noticed the carpet was not vacuumed properly, there was blonde hair and leftover residue of who knows what through the place and getting stuck on our socks. I was not able to sleep : and called the front desk in the morning during their business hours if the could cancel my second night. I honestly felt really uncomfortable. I’m glad they allowed me to cancel/refund my second night. I’m really disappointed I paid full price for the one night/ yucky experience.
Best place to stay! The rooms are roomy and clean in Santa Cruz mountains with beautiful views. I slept really well. The service is excellent. There's a cafe open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a great deal and away from the city. Found it because I couldn't get a room when dropping off my kid to UCSC. Much better choice. This time they upgraded me to a suite over the office for better internet connection--free of charge!
Beautiful motel in a beautiful party of the world. Rooms are clean and recently refurbished. Friendly staff although office hours are a little limited. Getting out of the back parking lot can be a little dicey as the visibility into the road is not great.Rooms: 5/5
