Terrible, unprofessional workers. Snapping and snarking at each other. Too young inexperienced and overwhelmed to Actually do any work. I saw one snap at a young woman about HIPPA and he misquoted it. When she called him out on it he got angry. Do not leave your elderly here. They will be neglected. I'm astounded they haven't been reported and shut down.
I've been here 6 months for a winter respite from Michigan The staff is courteous, respectful. The facility is spacious. Nicely decorated My complaints : 1 it's not disabled friendly. . I use a Walker and electric wheel chair. Most doors to outside are extremely hard to open. I feel at risk of falling with parking lot doors due to difficulty of use. Wheres the ADA thought They need auto doors to nonsecure areas 2the gym is almost nothing. A bike, weights, a walking machine and a psuedo nu step. My generation values fitness. I'm 71 years old 3 food is poor, especially since covid. Again, wheres the healthy thought. Fried chicken is bad for anyone. I've spoken 4 times with kitchen chefs about better quality. Next winter I'll look elsewhere for my respite from winter
My mom stayed here for her last year and it was fantastic. Smelt wonderfully clean, great employees and delicious food. I tried to get her up and moving to the hair salon, putting green and TV room. Its just a warm nice place...very UNLIKE. the residential care homes she was in. Everyone parks their carts or walkers in a little row just outside dining room door. Like a parking lot..all in a line I thought it was fantastic for her..and us four children and the grandkids, too.
Be very careful before choosing Brookdale Paulin Creek. They will lure you in with a low introductory rate. Know that all services are charged a la carte, and your bill could skyrocket in a very short time. Of course, your aged relative will be comfortable by then, and you will be faced with a dilemma: move them or pay extortion rates?
My mother, who is 90 and losing her memory just a bit has been treated horribly by the staff who has called her " half baked" and bullied her. I never leave complaints about any businesses, but this became so intolerable that we are having to move her out. It has hurt her immensely as she has her wits about her enough to notice. She is a Godly woman who has given back to others her whole life to just be treated like a bad child. Beware of dealing with the director Christina and Maria, both are very rude and don't show concern for your loved ones or family members.
Called from Arizona where I live, to get my father in for a temporary stay due to being displaced by the fires. Was informed by Robert "the only thing we have is 30 day", Right now my Dad is in a hotel and dazed and confused and needs less than 30 days in addition to care and feeding. He is going downhill by the day. Will this big lousy bureaucracy budge? No they won't. Predatory jerks. They have the "luxury" of being chock full in occupants due to no efforts of their own and are still trying to sell rooms instead of help the people in their back yard. Simply appalling. No wonder the BKD stock is in the toilet.
Poor neighborhood for grandma. People keep breaking into resident vehicles and sleeping in them. Facility care is adequate but minimal. Pretty expensive for food that's worse than military issue. The Employees seem to care about the residence though and grandma has made friends.
I'm very disappointed with how the stuffs handle things at night ,especially the lady at the front desk who does the nignt shift for Wednesday! Im a caregiver so I usually start at 8:40pm at night so I'd come in at the front entrance but it's usually close by then so I use the door bell. I'd be waiting out roughly 2mins freezing cold and pressing the door bell at least 5times and the lady would be siting right there near the door either distracted by the phone or she pretends to not hear a thing because she's just lazy to get her ass up and open the door. I don't know if there is a small tv or something where she can see us outside coz clearly there is a cam outside the door. I would knock really hard on the door for at least once or twice and she'd hear it! I'm very disappointed and pissed coz it's freezing out there ! She shouldn't give any excuse that the door bell is broken because this has happen multiple times and she gets on my nerves coz of that! The last time she said that there was something wrong with the door bell so I put up with her excuse. Now she has done it more than 4 or 5times amd i can't tolearte it! Please tell the lady that does the night shift on Wednesdays 1/31 and other doent desk staffs to refrain from it and look out for people who gets in for work! we don't want to freeze outside! Very poor front desk service! The lady is stubborn !!!!
This is one of the better Independent Living Facilities in the area.
