This is the official Facebook page for the Brooklyn Center Fire Department in Hennepin County Minnesota.
The Brooklyn Center Fire Department (BCFD) was founded in 1949. The BCFD protects approximately 30,000 people living in an area of nine square miles. We operate out of two stations that protect residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
The BCFD responds to fires, medical emergencies, and chemical spills within the city in a timely and efficient manner to minimize the loss sustained by any citizen or property in the city. It is the goal of the Fire Department to arrive at an emergency scene within six minutes.
Staffing
The BCFD consists of a full-time fire chief, deputy chief, fire inspector and administrator. There are 40 firefighters.
Our mission is to protect the lives and property of the community from emergencies involving fire, medical, hazardous materials, and environmental causes. We accomplish our mission through education, fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency medical services, and other non-emergency activities.
