Brooks Berdan Ltd. was founded by the late, great audiophile, Brooks Berdan and his wife Sheila. We have become known as a leader in representing the finest in audio components. Assisting our customers in achieving a pleasing listening environment in their own home has always been a top priority for us.

Celebrating 30 years at the same location in Monrovia just east of Pasadena. We offer individual attention and world class customer service. Our special setup rooms allow you to experience the best equipment in an environment created for sound reproduction. I went in today to try some revel speakers, the folks at Berdan were very accommodating and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about audio gear and setup speakers for me to try. Ken made sure to walk me through everything and helped me find what I was looking for in a speaker. While I did not purchase anything today because I'm still setting up the place, the experience with them and ken especially is definitely why I will be purchasing from them once my home theater area is ready in a few weeks.
I had the absolute best customer service experience at Brooks Berdan. I spent months looking for the right tower speakers. I had visited the big box stores and other speciality hi-fi stores. Most of them were a joke. Brooks Berdan was the first establishment I walked into where I instantly felt the employees were passionate and knowledgeable about high-end audio equipment. They allowed me to spend hours listening to different sets of speakers at the store over several visits. Then they arranged for me to take 2 separate pairs of speakers home at different times to test them in my listening environment. That made all the difference. It gave me piece of mind to know that the thousands of dollars I was spending was on the right product. Rick, Ken and Sheila could not have been more helpful with the process. I ended up purchasing a pair of Revel speakers that I couldn't be happier with. Thanks again!
I recently did business with them fixing my vintage audiophile turntable and they were very helpful and nice as I'm just getting started on my vinyl path. Initially they were going to replace the head, but they managed to fit a modern cartridge into my Metzner Starlight 60A chrome head keeping the old vintage look. It's beautiful and sounds great from what I heard in their demo room, I can't wait to hear it hooked up to my Merantz 3250 control module/preamp & 170DC sterio amplifier.
UPDATE! Scott is no longer there. I don't see any reason to do business there anymore. Scott was the one to trust. Now its people that may or may not know anything. No longer know if what I wrote before is true or not. I heard he may be in Covina somewhere. Don't know. Over all a very good audio shop. Knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Lets you have all the time you need to listen and compare products. Keep in mind tho that they don't carry all brands are not going to point out another brand may be a better value. I do think that can order for you. Also if you are paying big money for some high end stuff, haggle with them and get the price down, there is a huge mark up in top shelf audio and I don't believe its right to make a huge profit on something just cause they can. They can pass on some savings to you as well. A deal should be a win for both parties involved. I think you after you shop around you'll end up coming back to them anyway. So it's a great place to start your search, it may be the first and last place you shop w/o wasting time anywhere else. Also their vinyl is the best around.
Experts in the field of high-end audio. They repaired and tuned up my Music Hall mmf table and it sounds great. July 2020 edit - OMG!! I replaced my original cartridge with an Ortofon MC Quintet Blue and my old phono pre-amp with a Moon 110 LP; both recommended by Brooks Berdan; and it is night and day! My table and records have never sounded better! Listening to The Gates of Delirium from Yesshows is mind-blowing. So happy!
They know their stuff and have a deep passion for music. It is always a pleasure chatting with them and taking advantage of their knowledge. Because of their help. I have a system that provides me with many hours of listening pleasure. Highly recommended!
Appreciate Ken's expertise and friendliness. Had a great time listening to Revel speakers, Mark Levinson amps, VPI turntables, and Chord Electronics. Enthusiastically recommend.
There is none finer and I can't think of any who can even come close. Superb personal service. It's like family. Don't waste your time just come here and you'll be glad.
Really accommodating. Honest about what they can and can't do. Friendly, reliable, and my 40 year old sentimental stereo works!
