Description

A part of the Brookville Lake-Whitewater Memorial State Park Complex, Whitewater Memorial State Park is a great family getaway because of its 200-acre Whitewater Lake, access to Brookville Reservoir, and other recreational facilities.

Shoreline hiking, flat-water boating, swimming, fishing and camping opportunities are abundant around the man-made lake. The access to Brookville Reservoir provides many opportunities for seeing migrating flocks of birds.

Whitewater Memorial State Park boasts 9 miles of horseback riding trails with access both for day users and from the horsemen’s campground. The saddle barn concessionaire offers hayrides, guided trail rides, and sleigh rides, weather permitting.

The land for the park was originally purchased by the surrounding counties of Union, Fayette, Franklin and Wayne as a memorial to the men and women who served in World War II. It became the 16th park in the Indiana State Park system in 1949.

Great campground nice friendly family atmosphere. Clean and well kept. Separate shower houses that lock which i prefer, hot water low pressure but hot. We took a guided nature hike looking for mushrooms that was exceptionally good. Great guide we literally found hundreds of mushrooms and fungus of various species that adults and teens enjoyed.
Nice park for any out of towner like myself. Or even for locals that have not been. Enjoyed the trails. Dog friendly! Nice picnic areas and beach. As well as swimming. Nice family cabins if wanting to stay as well as camp sites both electric and tent. Very nice park. Definitely recommend!
Definitely worth the visit. We did not have time to see the entire state park because we got to the campground late, stayed overnight, and left early the next morning. It was a beautiful area from what we did see.
Great park. Nice campground. Not my favorite shower house. We really like kayaking here. Sometimes we are able to catch lots of fish!
Great smaller beach. Fish like to bite us here and it tickles. Kids have blast and fairly clean as beach goes.
Whitewater State Park is a great place to go camping! They only have 30 amp hookups at their sites, but that's ok. They also have horse camping area and lots of trails to ride the horses on. Nice beach and lake. They have boats you can rent and they have cabin rentals if you don't want to bring your camper. We love to winter camp here, we are normally the only ones in the entire campground! That's a pretty cool feeling!! Love it!! Dog-friendliness: Dogs are ok. Just clean up after them, please!!
We stayed on site 324 and it was a very nice site. We were with a larger group so we did not use the site other than for a place for a camper to sit. It was close to the bathhouse which was very clean and well-kept. I am a cyclist and my wife is a runner. We both loved the whole campground because it provided a lot for us to use for exercise. The camp store was nice and had the stuff you may need and some fun stuff to remember your trip there. We collect stickers from campgrounds so it was nice that they had a selection to choose from.
Beautiful park, hiked the lakefront trail i wish there was more signage on the trail as we lost the trail
Beautiful park I hadn't heard of until recently. Campground was great. It was well kept, the bathrooms and showers were clean, and because of the environment, bugs weren't terrible. With the lake, trails, and adjacent State Recreation Areas, one shouldn't run out of outdoor activities to enjoy in any season. We would come back.
Lovely campground. Great camp sites. Easy going.
