I visited Broward County Library today for the first time and I think it’s well resourced to a great extent. I like the neatness and the fact that the kids have a section with their computers. I also saw a colourful keyboard which will make learning, reading and typing easier and memorable for children.
First time visiting this library. I went around 9:30am because the library I normally use hadn't opened yet. It is clean, quiet and want very busy on a Friday morning. I will use this location again to get errands done early.
First time coming here. Close to home with a good selection of books.
I used to like this library a lot. Initially, it gave off a nice vibe walking in and having a large open area, but I don’t like this library so much anymore. I find it very hard to focus when trying to study there. They don’t have a computer lab or a quiet study room. They do have a quiet section, but you can still hear everything since the library is so open. It also has a very weird musty smell in there. Not sure if I’ll return there to study again.
Very bad stuff and very rude. Did not treat me like a human being. I will make a formal paper complain soon. I am regret to live close this so called "public" place. It is the worst library that I ever visited in Florida. If you are looking for a safe place that you can focus on your work, then it would is better you go other bigger libraries that they at least would not throw you out. DO NOT GO. Hopeful, my further complain will help to make it better for the community.
I went there on May 11, 2021. This library is connected to the middle school next door called Walter C. Young Middle School. Whenever the school is open, the library is open. That's why the hours are from 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday. To get there by bus, you can take the 7 to NW 129 Ave and then walk north on NW 129 Ave for about ten minutes. You will see the middle school on your right. Once you past the school, you will then see the library.
Unprofessional team members. I got kicked out for something I didn't do. Quick story, someone logged in my account in the computers and I try to log them out so nothing bad happens. BUT, the librarian's kicked me out for trying to log someone out of my account. L librarian's + ratio
Terrible place. They are extremely disrespectful. Especially to the students. The library is a PUBLIC library, yet they always find a reason to kick the students out or just leave them outside in general. Majority of the students don't want any harm, all they really want is a A/C, but on a day when it was over 90 degrees outside, they kept ALL the students outside because there was a little altercation on Walter C. Young grounds. Not the library, but the SCHOOL, but they still didn't allow any middle school students and some Elementary students for 40 minutes. After, they were just smiling as if they did nothing.
The librarians are extremely disrespectful to the students and the bathroom is horrendous since the smell matches what it looks like and it smells extremely bad. Therefore, my experiences at the library were not the greatest. Especially, how they treat some of the students. It is a public library, yet they do not give access to those who have a library card. Also, WCY middle school students have tutoring camps before the actual FSA and it’s supposed to be optional, but they force the students to go. Oh, the books are nice
This library is the closest to my home. I enjoy coming to this library because the staff are very friendly and helpful. I like coming here over the South and Miramar location because this location is not as crowded. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because of their hours. I have 2 school aged children and there are times we need to come to the library to get projects and homework done, but unfortunately they close at 4 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. That doesn't give me enough time to travel from work to pick up the children from school/daycare and come to the library.
