I literally just left out the door. I came here to utilize a study room because I had two interviews. They ran a little over time so a middle age woman staff came by the door to announce my time was up. I acknowledged her and told her ok. I started packing up to leave then this boisterous rude black elderly woman who works at the circulation desk barged in and as loud as she could be, she started complaining and demanded that I get out now. You'd think she was kicking me out of her house! Last I checked this is a public library and I pay my taxes. She was rude from when I first walked in to the library. Who hired her?!? When I say rude, I'm being nice - her attitude was extremely $#!++y ---> nasty! Caustic as acid and as abrasive as sandpaper! Low down dirty attitude. Bitter, ready to fight in the streets kind of attitude! Embarrassed and in disbelief, I politely told her I was wrapping up an interview and she scolded me saying as loud and demeaning as can be "I don't care someone is waiting and you need to leave now!" Talk about unprofessional demeaning behavior! She saw me packing up my things and proceeded to act a damn fool. No grace given and the person who was “waiting” had just arrived. My interview that was going well went down the drain because of a disrespectful bitter dirt bag! ABSOLUTELY NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THAT! How about management terminate her employment and give that vacancy to someone with class, professionalism, and empathy! Who in their right mind hired that canker sore?!?!?! I’ll be writing a formal complaint as well! She’s such a POS for what she did! I’m extremely furious at her behavior! I swear the devil equips his best demons.... and this one happened to work at the public library of all places. She should consider working at a prison. Her volatile attitude would fit in well there.
Super unwelcoming staff. Kids section is terrible. Go to Dania or Stirling instead. A frizzy blonde haired lady 30 min to close was asking everyone very passive aggressively if they could “help you with anything” and then when people said no, the lady said “you know the library is closing in 15 min.” the staff just stare at you until you leave and quite frankly their selection isn’t great. For a staff that doesn’t want to work, going out of their way to make rounds aisle to aisle, to passive aggressively ask everyone if they need help with no intention of helping, seems like a lot of energy wasted.
Library has free English & Spanish classes for beginners and intermediate level. Nice quite classrooms. Free wi-fi if you want to come by and work.
Easy location for a few services like transportation passes internet availability on PCs or your own carry in device. Quiet self serve areas copier available and a friendly staff onsite
I have always considered "Public Libraries" to be hidden treasures within our cities and communities; and because of it I really love them; everytime I visit them, I feel like I am entering another dimension. You can feel, peace, harmony, quietness, joy; and all of these feelings lead to a great experience of learning and growing in knowledge. The staff is great, and they are always willing to help, which makes the visit a wonderful experience. Nevertheless, this time I was very disappointed, since the system was down and people were unable to use the computers, but then again, that is not the fault of the staff.
Nice place to do homework. But some people are too loud :0
This is the worse library EVER. Staff is very friendly but this is the noisier library I ever encontre in my live. And they are having serious problems with the homeless in the place. huge problem
Hollywood branch library opens Monday thru Saturday. They have a vast variety of books. There are several restrooms for adults and for kids. They have a reading area for children, they Also have computers and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It has access for wheelchairs. It is never too crowded and it is always quiet. Sundays is closed. You can always donate your old books.
This place has become a shelter for homeless people. They hang out all day long, disturbing everyone from studying and NOBODY lifts a finger to restore the laws and regulations that are normally supposed to be inside a library where people come to STUDY AND READ in a quit environment!!! Everybody talk over the phone is Loud, and laughing inappropriately... I don't have anything against homeless people but if you come inside a public library BE QUIET and respect others!
Very nice, lots of room.. don't have atlas to take out
