Legit best school ever! My teachers were all amazing the principal is so nice and knows absolutely everyone and 5th grade was my favorite school year ever, they go all out to make the 5th graders feel special, I'm a very proud buckhorn bear! Every single person in my grade loved the school, they do yearly improvements so it always looks amazing
We choiced into this school from about 45 minutes away. The principal, Mrs Brooks is hands-down the best principal I've ever come across. She knows the name of every student in the school, she makes it a point to tell everyone good morning with a smile on her face and if she sees a parent in the hallway without the student, she knows whose child the parent belongs to. She seems to be a great leader and respected by many. My children have loved all of their teachers. They do not scare the students into doing well on the test which is what I like. They encourage them to do their best as they do every day. I do not want to move on to middle school and wish that my children could go there throughout their entire schooling.
We LOVE Buckhorn!! The principal is super dedicated to the students and administration is wonderful to work with. Both of our children have had great experiences. We choiced into Buckhorn and are thrilled we did!
Buckhorn has great amount of money and donations from the PTA. But, for the education part would be scored as below average. The teachers have their hands tied when teaching within the classroom. Teachers are unable to teach grammar, spelling, correct way to solve math equations. They also do not focus on History and Science in the classrooms until second quarter then is but on hold again until the last quarter of school. This school is more focused on testing the children then teaching the children how to read, write and conduct math problems. Examples of our frustrations: Math is being taught is a different way of drawing dots instead of solving the problems through proven mathematical steps. Buckhorn lacks constant focus in regards to English. They do not teach phonics nor spelling. When asking the past 5 years why the school does not teach spelling or grammar the school has explained most of the children will be writing on the computers in which has spell check. This comment has been made from teachers, vice principal and principal.
Best elementary school hands down !!! My kids thrive at this school . The staff is really caring as well .
Went to school there back in the 80s. Went there for grades k-5. Phenomenal school.
