Masonry is the worlds oldest and most well known fraternity. Masons world wide donate approximately two million dollars a day to different charities.
Bucyrus Lodge #139 was first chartered by the Grand Lodge of Ohio in October of 1846. In May of 1870 a second lodge (Crawford Lodge #443) was chartered. Both Lodges continued to meet until 1888 when both Lodges were ordered to disband by the Grand Lodge of Ohio. In April of 1892 a third lodge was chartered by members of both Bucyrus and Crawford Lodge's and later that year was named Trinity Lodge #556. Sometime in 1919 the members of Trinity Lodge petitioned the Grand Lodge to restore their original name, the petition was granted and Bucyrus Lodge #139 once again began meeting and conducting business. Over the years the members held their meetings in several locations in historic downtown Bucyrus. In 1942 the Lodge purchased it's first hall on South Sandusky Ave. This location was used for meetings until the Fall of 1959 when a newly constructed hall was opened. Bucyrus Lodge #139 still meets in this location on the first and third Tuesday's at 7:30pm.
