A very Busy public swimming facility in Balboa park. Is not very large, based upon demand I’d say it’s grossly undersized for the neighborhood. Parking is a challenge, but we somehow still find a spot. The facility appears quite old, but the pool appears modernized. Gets very busy with lessons, Polo games and public swimmers. Needs to be larger, much larger.

Great swimming and water polo classes for kids and quite inexpensive! Facilities are very basic but for the price it's good enough.
It's a nice pool, nice staff. But we have waited for it 3 years to reopen only for 1 day and half per week ? With all the investment and the effort to keep it heated and clean only to be opened on Saturdays? Kind of ridiculous
It’s a good pool! Water is clear & with good temperature what’s helping when it’s cold outside. I support the idea that it opens more days.
The pool and facilities are perfectly adequate for a quick workout. Admission is just a few bucks, and there is usually an open lane, and in the handful of times that it has been "busy", folks have been quick to share. It's an older pool, but it gets the job done, and the 22 yard length helps make me feel like I'm much fitter than I actually am.
Clean facility, and friendly people. The only request I would make is more lounge chairs in shaded area, and some near the pool.
Best public pool in San Diego. Shallow section, lanes, and a deep end where you can actually free swim. That last one is pretty unusual and its why this is my favorite pool. Some people have a problem with the locker room being outdoors, but that's actually far more sanitary. And right in Hillcrest, it's a great destination for a workout and then some fun.
Excellent outdoor pool in a beautiful setting. It's heated slightly more than what I'm used to, but on a cool January evening it felt quite nice! The staff are friendly and helpful.
