Buddha Kung Fu was founded by Buddha Zhen Shen-Lang "Spirit Wolf of Truth" January 2008. During 2007 Buddha Z wrote the book, BUDDHA KUNG FU STUDENT MANUAL, to launch these new curriculums derived from his original school, Shaolin Chi Mantis Traditional Buddhist Gongfu and Taijiquan.
Buddha Kung Fu is the third Chinese martial arts school system founded by Buddha Zhen. Tai Chi Youth nonprofit schools were created in 1996 and taught in dozens of schools, churches, and several YMCAs.
Buddha Kung Fu includes most of the 18 classical Chinese weapons, but does not include the Praying Mantis Kung Fu taught in the Shaolin Chi Mantis schools.
Buddha Kung Fu students start with a plain white sash and end with a white sash containing 10 blue stripes. Although sparring is not allowed in any of the Buddha Kung Fu programs, Pushing Hands is required. The belt rank testing also includes choreographed fighting by the students who must demonstrate the fighting applications of the Shaolin Kung Fu and Yang Style Tai Chi.

Buddha Kung Fu is designed to create Buddhas of any religion. Shaolin Kung Fu and Chinese Zen (Chan) Buddhism are the foundation of the programs which include Yang Style Tai Chi, Yoga, Qigong, Push Hands, and Chinese weapon training. Sparring is not permitted in Buddha Kung Fu classes to prevent injuries, promote compassion, and enable nonviolent persons to attain the highest levels of Shaolin Kung Fu.
