I rented a car for a week to travel from Virginia to NEw York city with a tire that was low and the passanger front  tire completely worn out and showing the wire. They really put my families lives in danger. Very unsatisfied

The rental had to be replaced twice and it was not our fault. We were inconvenienced on our vacation time and all we got was 20.00 discount from Newport News VA airport. After calling customer service and needing to explain once again what happened. Then they gave 100.00 off. Which to me is still not good enough because I had to waste time once again. When I returned the car for the finally time they should have offered a discount. That would have made it a little better, because then at least I knew the valued my business. But they didn’t value my business, we had to do must of the leg work and be inconvenienced. So budget rental is not getting my business anymore.

The agent that took care of me for check out happened to be the same agent when I returned the vehicle. She was professional, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and made my experience very comfortable and relaxed. I wished I remembered her name. Thanks young lady you are awesome

Worst experience ever. Reserved a car, arrived at the airport and the counter was closed. Spent hours on Avis line only to find out there was no car. Eventually got a car from American. Terrible way to start my family vacation, very disappointed. Don’t expect to find a car even if you did the right thing and reserved one previously.  Will never rent from Budget again and you shouldn’t either.

I had a ROUGH day or two of traveling and got to the counter 12 hrs later than I had planned. The guy working could tell and was super kind and surprised me with an upgrade! It was such a nice gesture and cheered me up a bit. The lady that I just returned the vehicle to was also were nice and friendly.

Vehicle was broken and not in safe working conditions.  Transmission issues, outlets did charge our devices and the windshield wipers blades were in terrible shape.  Tried to exchange the vehicle out twice with no success.  Unloaded vehicle to exchange and someone stoled our cooler, we did get it back.  We were told they would give me another vehicle.  I will not rent from Budget again.  Enterprise will get my next vehicle rental.

EXCELLENT customer service! The staff at Budget Car Rentals was very helpful and made the process simple and easy! We enjoyed the vehicle and will definitely be using Budget again.

My flight to Norfolk Virginia was canceled and I was rerouted to Newport News where I had rented a standard size SUV. When I got to Newport News they told me they did not have a vehicle for me but would I like a pickup truck which had an open back. I told them I could not take a truck with an open back and they gave me a Jeep. When I got down to the cars the jeep was also a four-door with an open back. I am 74 years old and could not lift my suitcases in the backseat plus there was no room for the suitcases there. I went back and they finally pulled a car out of the return line which was a small Jeep Renegade. My original reservation in Norfolk was still valid and I was told when I got to Norfolk I could trade in this small Jeep and get my standard SUV. I drove directly to Norfolk and when I got there they had my reservation but told me they had no cars at all. My cousin who lives in Williamsburg had offered to drive me to Norfolk to pick up the car but luckily I told him no otherwise I would have been without a car at all. The small Jeep they gave me had over 40,000 miles was extremely uncomfortable noisy to the point I could hardly hear my wife who was sitting next to me. This has been the worst rental experience I have ever had. I would totally stay away from both budget and Avis because they are owned by the same company and couldn't help between the two of them.

If there was a 0 star option then that's the one I would choose... do not rent from these non- winners... I repeat DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET!!!... I'm not even a smoker due to prior medical issues and this company charged me the smoking fee  anyway... are you  kidding me?? So plz don't get robbed like I did... rent from a better company.

Everyone we made contact with was extremely friendly, very easy access to the rental car, very clean car. Loved it thanks a bunch.  Newport News Airport was so well organized.
