I showed up to my reservation at the Abington location and they didn't have a car. Person was very unhelpful, just shrugging and saying, call customer service. I called customer service, who sent me to this Bala Cynwyd rental location. This interfered with my vacation plans and required that a family member shuttle me around all day to different rental locations. At the second location despite my efforts to call the location directly and confirm they had a car for me--and I was told, yes, they did for sure, by the central customer service, which was who I reached by calling the local location directly, once I arrived, they told me that no, despite my reservation, they did not have a car for me. It took me an entire wasted day of my vacation to get the car. When I finally got it, it smelled like I was sitting in a bath of cleaning products and every time I got in the car that week, my nose stuffed up and I got a headache immediately. This could not possibly have been a worse experience. I would actively recommend to people to NOT use Budget and will not use Budget again in the future, thanks.
Process was fast. No hassles. The staff was great at pick up and drop off. My only issue was the exterior was dirty. The car was white also, so it looked worse. If the exterior isn't clean how do you really know if the interior was cleaned? There were stains in the back seat which I pointed out so that I wouldn't be charged a cleaning fee. I only needed the rental while my car was in the shop, so it was tolerable.
The same woman was at the counter for pick-up and drop-off. She was friendly, polite, professional and really helpful. For example, I dropped off the car at 8 a.m. as the place opened. Very crowded. She was smiling and cheerful with the people in front of the line. Though I was standing in the back, she saw that I was dropping off and called out to me to say I could just give her the keys...she would later check me in and I could go. That was nice.
I prepaid for a vehicle for a 12pm pick up, I arrived at 1 pm to ensure readiness and I had to wait 30 minutes for the vehicle. The Vehicle had a strong chemical smell, I had to drive with the windows open for 6 hours until the smell left, then the cigarette smoke resurfaced. I had a horrible experience. The service was horrible at this location.
Sales rep at site was very nice and respectful. The pick up went easy as 1 2 3. And the drop off went the same way. I do believe the pay in advance option is a benefit to us all. Both the customer and Budget. The car itself was bad on gas but was more than expected and much appreciated.
The gentleman that attended us was remarkable and made my vacation outstanding. He took the time to help me download an app that made my trip so much easier and relaxin. I never lost my way and had the stress of not knowing which way was the right way to go. Finally, a vacation where I did not get lost or took the wrong exit. He was a gentleman and so patience and helpful. I do not remember his name but he deserves a raise or a promotion. Thank you!!!
