The rental was a nightmare, from the start. I initially asked that because my wife was disabled, if I could take care of the reservation or if we can make provisions to take care of the reservation, but was told that that was not acceptable. The way the Midland Texas airport is laid out, there was no way for me to get her into the airport, as it was her cards we were using without a lot of walking. I tried to talk to budglet's ADA department, but the best they had was contact the sky cap and have a porter go all the way out into the parking lot wheel her into the airport, to handle this and then we'll her all the way back out. That was ridiculous. Then they wanted an extra $250 for a deposit, so I pulled out my debit card, but they said I could not use my debit card because I did not have a round trip plane ticket. I wasn't flying. When I called customer service and asked why I needed a round trip plane ticket, they said because they trust that I was going to bring the car back. So l was categorized as a thief who was going to steal the car. I then asked for a manager, who then told me that the flying Publix money was better than just your walk-in customer money. When I received the car it was filthy, I walked back in as for another car they gave me another car, and it was filthy. When I asked to speak to somebody about a refund, I was told because I did not have a budget club number, that I was not eligible for a refund. The bad part about this is is I'm starting a new job, and we'll be doing a lot of traveling, so I was looking to get into their club. But now I'm not so sure.
Staff and car were fantastic. Return process is a little odd because you have to park a little away and outside luckily it doesn’t rain much there…would rent with them again though as return process is same for all vendors.
Checkout was ok, but the car was at least a quarter mile from the checkout place. High winds blowing at the airport and the car was pretty dirty on the outside. No one checked me out or did a walkaround with me. Debra at the desk was very nice but she printed my rental agreement backwards so it wasn't legible. Had to get a better copy at check-in. Car drove ok, but this reaffirmed my dislike for hybrids. I think driving them is a safety hazard. The parking brake stays on until you "goose" the throttle, which could be a problem if you're tightly parked. You also can't drive the car AT ALL without the seatbelt fastened, which again, in an emergency situation could injure or kill someone. I tried calling your customer service over the phone to extend for a few hours. Theresa was very abrupt, said she would charge me an additional day rate of almost $140 for 7hrs, which isn't what a customer wants to hear, then said "she'd check on it" and hung up on me. I know my phone number is on the rental agreement. I'd think if you were really concerned about good customer service, you'd call back and try to SOLVE the issue. Upon check-in at the ABQ airport, Mario was very nice, printed me a legible copy of my rental agreement, and wished me well. He mentioned something about the customer service section might be being done by a separate contractor, NOT Budget employees. Well, if I had to base my future Budget rentals on that interaction alone, I'd be looking elsewhere.
They play the trick of we already e-mail you the bill, to overcharge, I returned the car a day earlier than the reservation and was charge more that wgat the reservation. Cars are located almost one mile away from counter, slots are not marked, and when you returned again you have to bring the keys to the counter, again almost a mile away.
I always use Budget in Midland. The rentals are always in decent shape, and reasonably clean for Midland The main reason I use Budget is the counter staff, especially Cynthia. Always friendly, always helpful.
A Beautiful vehicle just extremely dirty where I had to clean the side mirrors to have a clear view. Staff was friendly and polite.
Cynthia was the best! Friendly, funny, efficient. Have us a great vehicle. Truck was perfect for our trip, no troubles with it at all.
I booked my car through the Southwest Airlines website because it was convenient. I do not know if this was the cause of the issue at hand. When my flight arrived in Midland, TX, I went to the Budget counter with my reservation information I had printed off. I was informed that my reservation was "unverified" and I could not rent a car unless I had two picture ID's. WHAT??? Never in all my years of travel and renting cars have I ever had to present two picture ID's, and furthermore, who even has two picture ID's, unless you bring your passport along, which I did not. I couldn't believe it. And frankly, I was a little embarrassed. What had I done wrong? Thankfully, I was traveling with my son and he happened to have an old college ID in his wallet and so the reservation was switched into his name and he was the only one permitted to drive. If I was traveling alone, I would have been out of luck. And nowhere on the reservation did it state that you needed two picture ID's. Poor, poor, poor policy and service! Will never rent from Budget again. You just lost me as a customer.
Budget was definitely better than Hertz at this same location . No hidden fees or any of that mess that allows them to charge your credit cards or take some of your deposit . The car could have been a little bit better Budget but I was totally satisfied with you guys, thank you
Clean car, good value, no problems with car while driving. Next time though, will opt for a bigger car than Chevy malibu
