Budget Truck Rental

This guy is just a scam. Rented a 10' truck on a Friday. I told him I didn't need it until Saturday, but he told me to come in early at 1:30pm on Friday, because he was closing for the Apple Blossom Festival. Then he offered a 25% discount off $29/day for the truck and 79 cents/mile if I got the insurance. I returned the truck by 5pm the next day and they closed early because of the festival again, and he ended up charging me $226. I called to ask why I was charged so much because based on the initial math, I expected the total to be around $150. He said on weekends, the cut off is 8am, so I was automatically charged for two days, plus two days of insurance. He didn't explain any of that when he sold me on this the day I rented. Not to mention the truck was a piece of junk. My son-in-law had rented with U-Haul, and I wish I had done the same.

Reserved a 26’ truck a month before our move. The morning of, we get a call 2 hours before pick up time that there are no 26’ trucks within 300 miles of us. No 20’ or 16’ either. We were able to find a 26’ truck through U-haul fortunately within an hour of being told there was no truck for us at Budget, and then Budget proceeded to charge us a $75 no show fee.

I just rented a 26' Truck to move equipment between locations. I was very pleased with both the truck and the service I received. The trucks are kept a couple blocks from the office and I was informed of this before arriving. The only issue I had was Google's directions routed me to the SPCA thrift store instead of Budget rental office. When I called Steve he told me exactly how to find them, so no big deal. I'll be using them again!

We reserved a 12' truck for pick up at 4:30pm we arrived to this location at 4pm only to find several trucks on the lot but a sign posted up stating that they were closed due to flooding. We placed our order for the truck online this morning. it shouldn't have even been an option to place a pick up for this location if in fact they were closed "due to flooding" and not just taking the day after the fourth of July off of work. When I called budget they proceeded to tell me how budget doesn't guarantee anything and it was our fault because we made the reservation the day off. It shouldn't be an option do make same day reservations if it is an issue for your company. I was then repeatedly read budget policies but none of them addressed the inconvenience of arriving to pick up a truck at a closed location. I was then told that I would receive a phone call about finding a new pick up location within 15 minutes to 2 hours only to be transferred to a manager after my repeated request. The manager than told me that Budget doesn't even guarantee phone calls back, because budget doesn't believe in guarantees, they're the company of hopefuls and maybe's. Everyone that I talked to in the customer service department was extremely rude, lacked empathy, and made it clear to me that they could care less about the military and my circumstances. This has been the most horrible experience that I have had dealing with rental company and they're customer service department is definitely rating at a 0 with me.

If I could give a zero review I would. Owner called night before was supposed to pick up truck to tell me he had a meeting and needed to move my rental out a few hours. Nevermind I needed to be 300 miles away by 2pm. He just kept telling me they made the reservation to be helpful, is that not your business to rent out trucks?? Advised him he was screwing with my life as I was supposed to pick the truck up at 8am the very next morning and no possible way to reserve another. Said not his problem and hung up. Horrible business!!! After reading more reviews seems this company likes to mess people's lives up with no regard, calling BBB and corporate and reporting!!!

Absolutely ridiculous situation. Went in and reserved a truck for Monday at 8 am and got a call less than 24 hours beforehand that my reservation is cancelled because of a meeting. When I voiced my displeasure, the owner said it wasn't his problem and hung up on me.

Terrible experience, terrible service, terrible everything. Booked a moving truck over a month ago, personally stopped in the day before pick up to confirm my rental because they don't answer phones. Get here the day of my pick up they don't have a truck, now they are sending me 45 minutes to another one. Last time I will ever use budget. Do Not Trust budget, go else where.

I rented a truck from budget on july 17th. The truck broke down 2 miles down the road. Budget was unable to get a truck to us for another 27 hours. We went to return the truck on the 21st of july which was a sunday and the business was closed. We then returned the truck on the 22nd and this company charged me $150 for late return fee. will never use budget again.

They called me at 3:00 to let me know that the truck I was supposed to pick up at 4:30 was no longer available. By the time customer service got back to me with other "options" all of which involved me driving an hour or more out of my way there was no time to get to another dealer and back before they closed. I was forced to scramble and rent a Uhaul instead. Why bother making a reservation if they won't honor it? Absolutely ridiculous. Worst customer service ever.

They did not have the truck I reserved, did not have the furniture pads I reserved, had to take a smaller truck, and when I dropped it off, they said the gas tank was not full even though it was spewing out the side of the tank. Worst Customer Service Ever!!!! If I could I would give 0 stars but it won't allow me to. Don't waste your time with them.
